Escorted tours of Egypt are the ideal way to make the most of a visit to this mystical country. Our Egypt tours are your ticket to a world of wonders, from the ancient pyramids of Giza and the Great Sphinx to river cruises on the spectacular Nile, the world's longest river. You can also combine escorted tours of Egypt with some gentle winter sun on the Red Sea Riviera.
Our Egypt tours will take you to Cairo, where you can marvel at artefacts from Tutankhamen's tomb. And whether you're on an escorted tour of Egypt or a Nile River cruise, you will see the magnificent temples of Karnak and Luxor and the great tombs of the Pharaohs in the Valley of the Kings. Relax on the sundeck on your escorted tour of Egypt as your boat meanders past fishermen in wooden canoes and Kom Ombo, riverside shrine to the crocodile deity. Egypt river cruises are unforgettable.

We have returned from a wonderful 8 day holiday in Egypt. The holiday allows you to visit all the famous sites between Luxor and Aswan via cruise ship for 4 nights. The 3 nights in Cairo was a must to see the pyramids, sphynx and visit the museum. Even though the holiday is busy there are a few free afternoons which allow you time to relax. The Egyptologists who accompanied us were very knowledgeable and ensured that everything ran smoothly. There are many early mornings however this ensured that we missed the crowds and saw the sites in the coolness of the morning. All the famous sites are impressive and it is amazing how these structures were built so long ago. Another fabulous holiday from Archers Direct.
The only option which Archers could offer would be for the extra leg room on the Monarch flights. This option was available when we went to Gatwick airport for our flight.
If you pay for the Egyptian visa at Luxor airport this payment was required in Sterling at a cost of £12 per person using exact money.

Have just returned from our first Archers Tour to Egypt.
Can highly recommend Egyptair as our flights were brilliant in both directions with good food, copious amounts of (free) non alcoholic drinks and individual TV screens.
Once in Egypt the hotels were 5 star all the way. One, the Radisson Blu in Alexandria, was a new build and was gorgeous. The Concorde Salaam in Cairo on our last night was sheer luxury. The staff were helpful in all of the hotels. The only downside is that all hotels were between 45 minutes to 1 hour out of town so unfortunately no free time to wander around by yourselves.
Egypt itself is quite a culture shock. The amount of rubbish lying around in the streets of Cairo is unbelievable and the level of poverty indescribeable. If possible tip at every opportunity as the people need the money. 1 Egyptian Pound while we were there was around 12p so don't begrudge that for the ladies handing out the loo paper in the public toilets or 5 pounds for the porter bringing your luggage. Tourists must look like something from another planet to them!
Highlights: The Citadel and Mohammed Ali Mosque in Cairo, the Library in Alexandria and the Coptic Monastery in Wadi Natrun. The monk who showed us around there was exactly 'The Jewel of the Nile'.

We had a very nice holiday and it was well worth the money. The food was very good and the ship was very clean and a good standard generally which surprised me. The trips were varied - not just history which kept the holiday interesting and we had a very good egyptologist who explained everything and was always willing to answer questions but we always had free time to take photographs. We never saw any evening entertainment because we were always getting up early but those that did take part had a good time. I would definitely recommend this holiday to everyone and I would choose this holiday again. I took some very nice photographs - a few I'd like to share with you.
Enjoy a fantastic winter sun cruise that takes in the highlights of the beautiful Red Sea region. You can take the 8 day cruise or combine it with a week's All Inclusive hotel stay in the popular resort of Sharm el Sheikh.
The incredible collection of resorts along the Sinai Peninsula is famous for its unique blend of blazing sun, azure sea and desert sand. From the ultra-modern Na'ama Bay to the world-class restaurants of Shark's Bay, and from cliff-top monasteries to the golden sands, Sharm El Sheikh holidays have everything you need for the ultimate sun-soaked escape.
