Your Itinerary

DAY 1: Overnight flight to Rio de Janeiro.

DAY 2 to 3: Arrival in Rio de Janeiro.

On arrival in Rio de Janeiro you will be transferred to your hotel for two nights. Enjoy free time to explore. (B)

DAY 4: Rio de Janeiro.

Today you will be transferred to your ship, MS Veendam, for embarkation.

DAY 5: Rio de Janeiro.

Rio de Janeiro is the second largest city in Brazil and is know for its natural settings, carnival celebrations and famous landmarks including the giant statue of Christ the Redeemer atop Corcovado mountain, named one of the New Seven Wonders of the World, and Sugarloaf mountain. (B, L, D)

DAY 6 to 7: At sea.

DAY 8: Buenos Aires.

Buenos Aires is the capital and largest city of Argentina and is is considered a top tourist destination, which is known for its European style architecture and rich cultural life. (B, L, D)

DAY 9: Montevideo.

Montevideo is the largest city and main port of Uruguay and is renowned for its colonial customs: long lunches, siestas and high tea. (B, L, D)

DAY 10: At sea.

DAY 11: Puerto Madryn.

Situated in rugged Argentine Patagonia, Puerto Madryn was founded by Welsh immigrants in 1865. (B, L, D)

DAY 12: At sea.

DAY 13: Port Stanley.

Port Stanley is the capital and only true city in the Falkland Islands. Its main ttractions include the Falkland Islands Museum and Government House. (B, L, D)

DAY 14 to 15: At sea.

DAY 16: The Antarctic Sound.

Spend a full day cruising the spectacular Antarctic Sound. (B, L, D)

DAY 17: South Shetland Islands.

Witness the fantastic scenery and abundant wildlife that the South Shetland Islands has to offer. (B, L, D)

DAY 18: Wilhelm Archipelago.

Wilhelm Archipelago is situated on the western coast of Antarctica and consists of a myriad of islands, the largest of which are Booth Island and Hovgaard Island. (B, L, D)

DAY 19: Drake Passage and Cape Horn.

Another full day of scenic cruising - look out for whales, dolphins, albatrosses and penguins which are often spotted here. (B, L, D)

DAY 20: Ushuaia - Glacier Alley - Beagle Channel.

Ushuaia is the southernmost town in the world, where dominating peaks loom on three sides. This afternoon, your cruise continues to the majestic Glacier Alley and Beagle Channel, where sea lions bellow and king crab rules. (B, L, D)

DAY 21: Punta Arenas.

This remote town, pioneered by Yugoslav settlers and sheep ranchers, sits on rolling hills overlooking the Strait of Magellan. (B, L, D)

DAY 22: Canal Samiento.

Enjoy a glorious day of scenic cruising through Tierra del Fuego and the snow-capped peaks of Canal Sarmiento. Cutting through Chile’s Torres del Paine National Park, this majestic waterway is surrounded by other-worldly beauty. (B, L, D)

DAY 23 to 24: At sea.

DAY 25: Santiago - UK.

After breakfast, disembark your ship and transfer to the airport for your flight to the UK. (B)

DAY 26: Home landing in the UK.

MS Veendam

Dining

Your cruise includes full board. There is a choice of dining venues on board: the main Rotterdam dining area has set dining for new 'dine as you wish' arrangements and a good selection of different menus. Casual dining is available in the Lido Restaurant most evenings with three courses of fresh, cooked-to-order specialities, or guests may enjoy elegant, sophisticated dining in the reservations-only Pinnacle Grill (additional cover charge per person applied to ship board account). Between meals there's the complimentary ice cream bar and after dinner there is the famous late night snack. Vegetarian or kosher meals and any special dietary requirements should be requested at the time of booking. Please note, we will automatically book early dining unless otherwise requested.

Cabins

All cabins have twin or queen size beds (or one sofa bed and one Pullman bed); air-conditioning/climate control; flat-panel TV; DVD player; telephone; music system; and 24-hour room service. Inside cabins have a shower only while outside cabins have a shower and bathtub. Your holiday price is based on a category K inside cabin or you may choose to upgrade.
