Tipping is an expected element in China's tourism industry. Customarily every passenger pays on arrival to the guide and then it is distributed appropriately between the local guides and drivers. As a guideline we recommend 5- 7 USD per person per day.

A really good tour of China. The tour guide was excellent and the city guides were also very good.
The only area that could be improved upon was the time lost visiting "shopping opportunities". These seemed to waste time that would be better spent at the attraction. Especially so at the Terracotta Army where you need all the time available to see all the exhibits.
Also the Yangtze cruise optional excursions were not advertised until on the cruise making it difficult to plan the trip.
The trip was good, we had an excellent guide the only thing i did not like was the stops to the shops and markets and some of the hotels were not as clean as expected.
I thoroughly enjoyed the holiday, but too much time was spent in taking us to places to shop, and therefore not enough at the places of interest.I also was not happy with the final transfer arrangements which I will address with you separately

I later found out the cakes were priced at 100-150RMB. So I feel I had been taken advantage by her. As this was on the last night it spoilt the evening for me.
