This morning, take the opportunity to explore the beautiful city of Vancouver with plenty of sightseeing opportunities including Gastown, Chinatown and Stanley Park. Vancouver has an impressively creative culture, friendly neighbourhoods, stunning sunset beaches, unfurling ocean and mountains. In the afternoon, take a water taxi to lively Granville Island - a local favourite and an important cultural district - and wander its outdoor markets and waterfront cafés. It's a great spot for foodies, with a feast of fresh produce, gourmet foods, baked goods and seafood on offer.

DAY 3 : Vancouver - Kelowna.

Today, travel to the resort city of Kelowna attractively set on the shores of Okanagan Lake and surrounded by pine forest, mountains and most importantly orchards and vineyards. Sample the exquisite local wines on a tour of the vineyards this afternoon.

DAY 4 : Kelowna - Rogers Pass - Banff National Park.

Travelling north through Okanagan Valley, famous for its peaches and vineyards, head towards Glacier National Park via the Rogers Pass. Take a break at the 4,379 ft high pass to take photos of the impressive rugged mountains, glaciers and waterfalls. Enter Yoho National Park and climb Kicking Horse Pass at 5,421ft. Early this evening you will reach Banff National Park, bursting with dramatic, untamed wilderness and the gateway to the majestic Canadian Rockies.

DAY 5 : Banff.

Enjoy a day in Banff, a gateway to adventure and wild countryside. If you wander in any direction and you'll discover an ardent wilderness full of wolves, bears and elk. It is one of Canada's favourite year-round resorts with many summer outdoor activities. Take the optional helicopter ride over the Canadian Rockies for a truly exhilarating experience.

DAY 6 : Banff - Columbia Icefield - Jasper National Park.

A day of scenic grandeur. First to Lake Louise, whose cold turquoise waters are a perfect natural mirror reflecting the surrounding mountains and glaciers. Precipitous gorges, snow-capped mountain ranges and lakes of exquisite colour come into view as the coach scales two mountain passes. A highlight of today is a stop at the Columbia Icefield to ride the Ice Explorer on ice that is 1,200 feet thick.

DAY 7 : Jasper.

Jasper is rich in wildlife, receives fewer visitors and much larger than other Rocky Mountain parks. Join the optional excursion to Maligne Lake and Spirit Island, with a narrated cruise of the lake. On your return journey, stop to view mighty Maligne Canyon, one of the most popular spots in Canada. Enjoy the afternoon and evening free, and perhaps take a hike along the trails, discovering the tumbling waterfalls, underground stream outlets and lush plant life as well as searching for elk.

DAY 8 : Jasper - Mount Robson - Sun Peaks.

Depart Jasper and follow the Fraser River to the base of spectacular Mount Robson, the highest mountain in the Canadian Rockies, peaking at 12,972 feet. The Yellowhead Highway continues along the mighty Thompson River with spectacular vistas of the Monashee Mountains. Spend a night in the alpine setting of Sun Peaks.

DAY 9 : Sun Peaks - Lillooet - Whistler.

Today, trace the Cariboo Wagon Trail, once a feat of engineering through extremely hazardous canyon territory in British Columbia. Follow the shores of Seton and Duffey Lakes via Lillooet, with breathtaking scenery around every bend, and arrive at Whistler late afternoon.

DAY 10 : Whistler.

DAY 11 : Whistler - ferry crossing - Victoria.

This morning set sail across the Strait of Georgia through the spectacular Gulf Islands, known for their Mediterranean-like climate, for an afternoon arrival in Victoria. Sightseeing here includes Marine Drive, Bastion Square, and Thunderbird Park with its collection of totem poles. This afternoon, visit world famous Butchart Gardens, one of Victoria's most celebrated sites and rated among the most beautiful gardens in the world. Once there, stroll through the colourful arrangements of the Sunken Garden, the Japanese and Italian Gardens, the English Rose Garden and the magnificent Ross Fountain.

DAY 12 : Victoria.

Enjoy a day at leisure to explore the spectacular city of Victoria, the picturesque provincial capital. Stroll around the painted bohemian shops, coffee bars and innovative restaurants and visit the Royal British Columbia Museum or take afternoon tea at the Empress Hotel. Take the chance to do a bit of shopping along Government Street or whale watching on the Strait of Juan de Fuca.

DAY 13 : Victoria - Vancouver.

Early this morning board the ferry for a scenic crossing to Vancouver for a mid-morning arrival. Transfer to the cruise port to embark MS Volendam for your seven-night Alaska cruise. Includes Dinner

DAY 14 : Inside Passage Cruising.

Embark on the most impressive part of this trip: Inside Passage cruising, where you will glide past thousands of miles of roaring waterfalls, towering glaciers and iconic islands, as well as greeting marine life such as sea lions, eagles and porpoises. Includes Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

DAY 15 : Juneau.

An afternoon arrival in Juneau, Alaska's capital. Juneau is only accessible by seaplane or boat and has a Gold Rush story to rival that of Klondike. In the winter, Juneau is a hive of legislators and their loyal aides, and in the summer it’s alive with waves of tourists. It's arguably the most scenically pleasing capital of the nation. Walk the maze of narrow streets and slanted houses, moulded within a network of staircases within the city centre. Soak up the bustling atmosphere along the waterfront with cruises ships, fishing boats and floatplanes continuously buzzing in and out. And finally, view the Juneau Ice Field which covers the Coastal range, with glaciers that tumble down between the mountainsides, a quaint frame to the charming city. Includes Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

DAY 16 : Skagway.

Morning arrival in Skagway, one of the driest places in the Southeast and a gateway to Alaska's Klondike Gold Rush of Canada's Yukon. Skagway still has old-fashioned, weathered boardwalks and old-time saloons. It’s a strange city, full of conflicts and contrasts, bordering a waterway that never freezes. It's most surreal feature is that its roads lead nowhere making it the most geographically secluded state capital in the country. Optional sightseeing includes a ride in a vintage parlour car to see the White Pass and Yukon route. The rest of the day is yours to relax or explore, before setting sail again later in the evening. Includes Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

DAY 17 : Glacier Bay.

This morning, cruise into spectacular Glacier Bay where 16 huge mountains converge to create a dramatic scene of awesome glaciers and massive icebergs. You’ll see an abundance of wildlife in Glacier Bay, including whales, eagles, seals, porpoises, sea otters, mountain goats, moose and bears. The humpbacks whales are most impressive and if you’re lucky you will see them hoist their massive bodies out of the water into spectacular leaps, a move called ‘breaching’. Includes Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

DAY 18 : Ketchikan.

A morning arrival in Ketchikan. Situated on Revillagigedo Island is the colourful Ketchikan, known as the salmon capital of the world. Ketchikan is backed by forested hills facing a picturesque waterway with fishing boats, floatplanes and ferries, and is abundant with bars and charismatic totem poles. Ketchikan is charmingly small at just a few miles long and only a few blocks wide and is located just 90-miles north of Prince Rupert. Optional excursions include Indian Heritage Villages and Totem Bight State Park. Includes Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

DAY 19 : At sea.

Continue cruising south along British Columbia's spectacular coastline, past thousands of miles of roaring waterfalls, towering glaciers and iconic islands. Look out for marine life along the way including sea lions, eagles and porpoises and if you’re lucky you may spot a pod of killer whales. Includes Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

DAY 20 : Vancouver - UK.

After breakfast, disembark your ship and transfer to the airport for your flight to the UK. Includes Breakfast

DAY 21 : Home landing in the UK.

Maximum elevation on this tour is 7,500 ft.
