Your Itinerary

DAY 1: Southampton, UK.

Make your own to Southampton to join your cruise ship, Balmoral. Your ship will depart late afternoon, latest embarkation time is 4pm. (D)

DAY 2 to 4: At sea.

DAY 5: Funchal, Madeira.

Madeira is known as the 'Garden Island' for good reason. This tiny Portuguese outpost bursts with subtropical flowers amidst its volcanic slopes and 'levada' waterways. (B, L, D)

DAY 6: Santa Cruz, La Palma.

The hidden gem of La Palma never fails to delight with its spectacular countryside and picture-postcard villages. Why not see some of its highlights on an optional panoramic tour? (B, L, D)

DAY 7: Santa Cruz, Tenerife.

The largest Canary Island, Tenerife pulls out the scenic stops with dramatic volcanoes, lush valleys and lunar-like Mount Teide National Park. Today, why not take the optional trip to this magnificent crater? Enjoy dinner and entertainment on board as you cruise towards Gran Canaria. (B, L, D)

DAY 8: Las Palmas, Gran Canaria.

The day is yours to enjoy the 'Miniature Continent' that is Gran Canaria. You may choose the optional excursion to Teror, where wooden-balconied houses cluster around a pretty, stone-and-whitewashed church, and to picturesque Arucas, the island's banana-growing capital. Cruise towards Lanzarote this evening. (B, L, D)

DAY 9: Arrecife, Lanzarote.

The Capital of Lanzarote is yours to discover, this incredible volcanic island is known for its surreal lava-covered countryside and whitewashed villages. The more adventurous might want to join the optional excursion to the 'Mountains of Fire' - a spectacular volcanic region in Timanfaya National Park. This evening, your ship cruises towards Portugal. DAY 10: At sea.

DAY 11: Lisbon, Portugal.

Today, discover Portugal's capital, one of Europe's smallest but most vibrant cities. Why not take the optional city tour, which encompasses the April 25th Suspension Bridge, the Jeronimos Gothic Monastery and ornate Belem Tower? Other excursions available include a trip to postcard-pretty Obidos. This evening, your ship continues cruising towards Southampton. (B, L, D)

DAY 12 to 13: At sea.

Arrive in Southampton this morning and disembark after breakfast. (B)

Tipping

Fred Olsen Cruise Lines operate an automated tipping system whereby an amount of £4 per adult per day will be added to your on board account at the end of the cruise. Gratuities will be shared equally between the cabin stewardesses and dining room waiters. Anyone wishing to vary the amount will be able to do so via the Reception desk.
