Itinerary Map

DAY 1 : UK - Toronto.

Fly to Toronto where you will transfer to your hotel for 2 nights.

DAY 2 : Toronto - Niagara Falls - Toronto.

See Toronto's major landmarks, including the banking district, City Hall, the CN Tower and Roger's Stadium. Next, enjoy a visit to thundering Niagara Falls. View the falls from scenic points along the edge of the gorge, then go on board the sightseeing cruise for a close up view of the river below the falls. NOTE: The operation of the Niagara Falls sightseeing cruise is subject to favourable weather and/or river conditions. When unfavourable conditions exist, a walking tour through the scenic tunnels will be offered.

DAY 3 : Toronto - Kingston - Ivy Lea - Ottawa.

Leave Ontario's capital and stop in Kingston, a city with an exciting history dating back more than 300 years. Continue to quaint Gananoque and Ivy Lea, where you'll enjoy a scenic cruise along the St Lawrence River, past wooded islands dotted with beautiful summer homes. Then proceed along the route of the Rideau Canal to Ottawa, Canada's beautiful capital city.

DAY 4 : Ottawa.

Queen Victoria chose this small lumber town as the site for Canada's capital, neatly avoiding the conflicting views of Toronto and Montreal. This morning visit the Canadian Mint, the embassy district and stately Parliament Hill. Also, visit the Royal Canadian Mounted Police stables. Suggestions for this afternoon include the magnificent Canadian Museum of History or the array of restaurants and shops at the lively Byward Market. NOTE: Due to seasonal hours, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Stables will be closed and unavailable for the following departures 31 Aug, 7, 14, 21, 28 Sep and 5 Oct 2017 - subject to change.

DAY 5 : Ottawa - Quebec City area.

Today, drive into the French-Canadian province of Quebec, where you will notice a change in language and tradition. Travel along the picturesque Ottawa River Valley to arrive in historic Quebec City, the heart of French Canada and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

DAY 6 : Quebec City area.

Enjoy an included guided tour of Quebec City which is North America's only walled city, crowned by the great turrets of the Chateau Frontenac. Old Quebec was the centre of New France and is now one of the most historic and best-preserved cities in North America. Within the walls are the Place d'Armes, the Laval Seminary and the star-plan Citadelle. Also see the stone houses crowding the narrow streets of Lower Town and ancient Place Royal by the St Lawrence River, and the historic Plains of Abraham where General Wolfe stormed the slopes. The afternoon is free.

DAY 7 : Quebec City area - Montreal.

This morning, why not take an optional excursion to Erabliere le Chemin du Roy Sugar Cabin for breakfast and a guided visit with a presentation about maple extraction? Afterwards, head south to cosmopolitan Montreal. As you enter Montreal, see the canted tower of the Olympic Stadium. Major attractions on this afternoon's guided sightseeing tour include Old Montreal and the Seminary of St Sulpice, Mont Royal and modern Montreal. In the evening be sure to try out one of the many sidewalk cafés specialising in French cuisine with a Canadian influence.

DAY 8 : Montreal - Toronto.

The day begins with a visit to Upper Canada Village, one of the largest and most complete living history museums in Canada. During your visit, you will be transported back in time to the 1860s. Afterwards travel back to Toronto, Ontario's capital. NOTE: Upper Canada Village will operate on a limited basis and the following departures will have the benefit of a private guided tour: 24 Apr, 14, 16, 21, 23, 25, 28 and 5 Oct.

DAY 9 : Toronto - UK.

Transfer to the airport for your flight to the UK.

DAY 10 : Land home in the UK.

Maximum elevation on this tour is 1,600 ft.

DAY 2 : Toronto - Niagara Falls - Toronto.

Tour the city’s major landmarks, including City Hall, the CN Tower and Roger's Stadium – home of the Toronto Blue Jays Baseball Club. Then onto the thundering star attraction of Niagara Falls. See the falls from superb scenic points along the edge of the gorge, and then get even closer – in you waterproofs - on board the sightseeing cruise.

DAY 3 : Toronto - Kingston - Ivy Lea - Ottawa.

Depart Ontario’s capital and stop in Kingston, situated at the mouth of the Cataraqui and St. Lawrence rivers, to explore its grand 19th century buildings and streets. Continue to Gananoque and Ivy Lea, where you'll enjoy a scenic cruise along the St Lawrence River, past wooded islands dotted with beautiful summer homes. Then proceed along the route of the Rideau Canal to Ottawa, Canada's beautiful capital city.

DAY 4 : Ottawa.

This morning the optional excursion takes you to the pleasant forest setting of Érablière le Chemin du Roy Sugar Cabin for a delicious breakfast and a guided visit and presentation on maple extraction. Afterwards, head south to cosmopolitan Montreal; as you enter the city look out for the canted tower of the Olympic Stadium. Major attractions on this afternoon's guided sightseeing tour include Old Montreal and the Seminary of St Sulpice, Mont Royal and modern Montreal. I have given a 'Good' against this as the cities chosen were all good. However, it was intense as there was a lot of travel by coach so too much time spent on the road and not enough at destinations or enough given to free time. Also it would have ...

This was our first coach tour of Eastern Canada and I have to say we were delighted with the content of the tour. We saw some wonderful scenery and sights that will live long in the memory. We throughly enjoyed the experience.

I would have given excellent for the tour except for an incident which happened in Montreal where the tour director abandoned us after giving us the wrong time for a tour we booked in Montreal.We missed the tour.I have already sent an email to Arche...

Good overview of cities but very tiring. Would have preferred to fly direct from Manchester instead of via Heathrow. Air Canada flight delayed on return and had to re book flight to Manchester.
