See Toronto's major landmarks, including the banking district, City Hall, the CN Tower and Roger's Stadium. Next, enjoy a visit to thundering Niagara Falls. View the falls from scenic points along the edge of the gorge, then go on board the sightseeing cruise for a close up view from the river below the falls.
Leave Ontario's capital and stop in Kingston, a city with an exciting history dating back more than 300 years. Continue to quaint Gananoque and Ivy Lea, where you'll enjoy a scenic cruise along the St Lawrence River, past wooded islands dotted with beautiful summer homes. Then proceed along the route of the Rideau Canal to Ottawa, Canada's beautiful capital city.
Queen Victoria chose this small lumber town as the site for Canada's capital, neatly avoiding the conflicting views of Toronto and Montreal. This morning see the Canadian Mint, the embassy district and stately Parliament Hill. Also visit the Royal Canadian Mounted Police stables. Suggestions for this afternoon include the magnificent Canadian Museum of History or the array of restaurants and shops at the lively Byward Market.
Today drive into the French-Canadian province of Quebec, where you'll notice a change in language and tradition. Journey along the picturesque Ottawa River Valley for a late afternoon arrival in historic Quebec City, the heart of French Canada and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Enjoy an included guided tour of Quebec City which is North America's only walled city, crowned by the great turrets of the Chateau Frontenac. Old Quebec was the centre of New France and is now one of the most historic and best-preserved cities in North America. Within the walls are the Place d'Armes, the Laval Seminary and the star-plan Citadelle. Also see the stone houses crowding the narrow streets of Lower Town and ancient Place Royal by the St Lawrence River, and the historic Plains of Abraham where General Wolfe stormed the slopes. The afternoon is free.
This morning why not take an optional excursion to Erabliere le Chemin du Roy Sugar Cabin for breakfast and a guided visit with a presentation about maple extraction. Afterwards, head south, and late this morning cosmopolitan Montreal comes into view. As you enter Montreal, see the canted tower of the Olympic Stadium. Major attractions on this afternoon's sightseeing tour include Old Montreal, Notre Dame Basilica and the Seminary of St Sulpice, Mont Royal and modern Montreal. In the evening be sure to try out one of the many sidewalk cafés specialising in French cuisine with a Canadian influence.
A further two days to relax and explore Montreal. Why not visit the Montreal Museum of fine art housing a large collection of contemporary Canadian and international art or the Cosmodome one of the country's top science attractions? One of Montreal's unique attractions is its Underground City with around 2,000 shops, bars and restaurants.
