After your cruise, why not add seven nights in Dubrovnik?
On day 8, transfer to your hotel in Dubrovnik for seven nights. Enjoy free time to explore independently before being taken back to the airport on day 15 for your flight to the UK.
Your Itinerary
DAY 1: UK - Dubrovnik.
Fly to Dubrovnik where you will be met and transferred to Gruz Harbour to embark your cruise ship. Settle into your cabin and enjoy your first lunch on board, as you meet the other guests. Dubrovnik is a beautiful city overlooking the sparkling Adriatic Sea and stunning Dalmatian Coast. Once a rival to Venice as a trading centre, Dubrovnik's Old Town sits protected behind mighty medieval walls measuring almost 2 kilometres long. (L)
DAY 2: Korcula.
Leave Dubrovnik behind this morning as you enjoy breakfast whilst cruising towards Korcula, the birthplace of Marco Polo. After lunch on board, with the shoreline of Lumbarda as your backdrop, you will arrive at the port in Korcula and spend the afternoon at leisure, sightseeing. Korcula is a quaint medieval island-town, filled with narrow stone streets and romantic churches. (B, L)
DAY 3: Hvar.
Depart for the quaint island of Scedro this morning, where you will have the opportunity to swim in the crystal clear waters. After lunch on board your cruise continues towards Hvar, the longest island in the Adriatic. Hvar has a chequered history of domination and ownership under the Greeks, Romans, Venetians, Turks, Austrians, French and Italians. Today, it is rich in history and culture and renowned for its wealth of sunshine, cultivated vineyards, and burgeoning fields of lavender, rosemary, sage, marjoram and thyme. Founded in 1612, the city is home to a variety of restaurants, bars and cafes, with a vibrant night life and you will be able to spend your evening exploring the streets and sampling the local cuisine. (B, L)
DAY 4: Trstenik.
Leave Hvar this morning and head towards the town of Trstenik on the peninsula of Peljesac. Here you can take a dip in the refreshing water and spend the afternoon relaxing on the sun deck. When you disembark the ship in the harbour you will have the opportunity to explore this delightful town, with a population of just 106. The main industries here include farming, viniculture, fishing and tourism and the area is known for its Dingac wine. The pretty coastline is covered with pine, providing a breathtaking backdrop as you swim in the sea. Later, you will visit the famous Grgic vineyards, where you will receive a tour before tasting some of the wine. (B, L)
DAY 5: Mljet.
Continue your Croatian adventure after breakfast with a cruise towards the island of Mljet. Thought to be one of the most beautiful islands in the Adriatic, Mljet is a tiny, unspoilt paradise fringed with a soft, sandy shoreline and burgeoning with ripe, green forestry and rich Mediterranean flora. You will have the afternoon to yourself to take in the stunning scenery, including the vast salt lakes within the National Park. You may wish to rent a boat to explore the National Park from a different vantage point or, alternatively, hire a bicycle and head to the old abbey and church. Spend the night moored in the port of Polaca or Pomena. (B, L)
DAY 6: Sipan.
Early this morning you will set sail towards the Elafiti islands, a group of islands in the Adriatic Sea, to the west of Dubrovnik. The largest of these islands is Sipan, which is the most distant from Dubrovnik. The islands of Lopud and Kolocep are also well known and their beautiful scenery and fine sandy beaches attract many visitors. You will have lunch and an opportunity for swimming off one of the smaller islands this afternoon. The ship remains moored at Sipan overnight, where you will be able to explore independently tonight. (B, L)
DAY 7: Dubrovnik.
Leave for Dubrovnik very early this morning, enjoying breakfast as you cruise through the clear waters. Take in the scenery en route to the city known as "heaven on earth" - Dubrovnik - as quoted by the famous writer George Bernard Shaw. You should arrive in Dubrovnik during the morning and will have the whole day to explore. You may wish to relax on the beach, enjoying a refreshing dip in the sea. Alternatively, you may choose to join an optional bus excursion to Montenegro today. If you decide to stay in Dubrovnik you have the option of joining a guided tour of the city, with an English speaking guide. If you are feeling particularly energetic, why not walk along the top of the 1940 metre long city walls, for an alternative view of the enchanting city? The ship remains moored overnight in the port of Gruz. (B, L)
