Your Itinerary
DAY 1: UK - Dubrovnik.
Fly to Dubrovnik where you will be met by our representative and transferred to your chosen hotel for three nights. (Meals as per hotel details).
DAY 2: Dubrovnik.
Nestled on the rugged, southerly coast beside olive and pine bordered shingle beaches, Dubrovnik is set on a hilltop overlooking a glittering, azure-blue bay harbour and is often called the 'pearl of Mediterranean'. Explore this city on an included half day sightseeing tour with a local guide. Drive along the coastal highway for panoramic views of the city walls, ancient rooftops and picturesque surroundings before continuing on foot to the heart of the city for an included walking tour. This ancient town, surrounded by fortresses, is a treasure trove of architectural and cultural masterpieces preserved over centuries. The pleasant city walk will take you to the Rectors' Palace and the Dominican Monastery with its 14th century pharmacy (Meals as per hotel details).
DAY 3: Dubrovnik. At leisure.
As Croatia's best-preserved medieval city, famed for its exceptional beauty and rich cultural heritage, Dubrovnik is a sightseer's dream with countless ornate churches, squares and museums to explore, together with plenty of pavement cafés, eateries and shops. Enjoy a full day at leisure to really make the most of this fascinating city. (Meals as per hotel details).
DAY 4: Dubrovnik - Budva.
Journey to the coastal resort of Budva for a four night stay. Blessed with a warm Mediterranean climate, Budva is a bustling cultural and tourist centre, with a rich history dating back to Egyptian times. The quaint Old Town is peppered with picturesque Venetian styled architecture and pretty cobbled streets and there's a couple of pebbly beaches nearby. Becici is within 2.5km and has a beautiful sandy beach. (Meals as per hotel details).
DAY 5: Montenegro excursion.
Head first to the stunning bay town of Kotor, a UNESCO World Heritage Site fringed by mountains and nestled on the shore of a long, steep-walled bay. Providing superb views from its mighty hilltop fortress, the town is ribboned with winding, cobbled streets, picturesque squares, and Romanesque churches, such as the splendid cathedral of St Tryphon. After time to explore, drive along the Lovcen serpentines to the tiny village of Bukovica for a chance to sample Njeguski cheese, honey wine, and the famed pršut smoked ham, in Montenegro's oldest restaurant. Later, head to the old royal capital, Cetinje, for a visit to the former home of King Nikola, now a museum laden with opulent displays and priceless artworks, and the ancient Cetinje monastery, home to several revered religious relics. DAY 6: Budva.
Today is free for you to explore beautiful Budva at leisure. (Meals as per hotel details).
DAY 7: Skadar Lake Excursion.
Drive to the delightful village of Virpazar on the shores of mighty Lake Skadar and, after free time to explore, enjoy a gentle cruise on the largest lake on the Balkan Peninsula. Stretching 30 miles in length and 10 miles in width, Skadar Lake is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, world-renowned for its surreal beauty and tranquillity. The sparkling clear, fresh water and shoreline fringed with lusciously rich flora attract a variety of wildlife and birds. Cruise amidst the lake's tiny, picturesque islands and bays and enjoy lunch on the beach of a secluded bay, with time to swim or soak up the sun, before cruising back to Virpazar. DAY 8: Budva - Dubrovnik - UK.
Transfer to Dubrovnik airport for your flight to the UK. (Meals as per hotel details).
