Your Itinerary
DAY 1: Depart UK.
DAY 2: Arrive Goa.
Upon arrival in Goa, you will be met by our representative and transferred to your hotel. The rest of your day is free to begin exploring, or to simply relax. Characteristically 'East meets West'; Goa is a charming mix of crumbling baroque architecture, friendly Indian culture and laid-back, serene beaches. Why not spend the rest of your day finding out what Goans mean by 'susegad' by taking a stroll along the beach and sampling fiery Portuguese-Indian cuisine?
DAY 3: Goa - Cola.
This morning sees the beginning of a truly wonderful overnight excursion to beautiful Cola Beach. One of the true hidden gems of Goa, Cola Beach is virtually untouched and bordered on three sides by forest and is home to a wide variety of birds. Upon arrival there is time to settle in before lunch under the palm trees. The rest of the day is yours to relax on the secluded, untouched beach or swim in the freshwater lake. This evening you will be entertained around the campfire before spending the night in the luxurious tented camp. (L, D)
DAY 4: Cola - Goa.
After waking up to the sound of the ocean, you may wish to spend more time on Cola Beach or take the optional dolphin watching trip to a neighbouring beach. Wave goodbye to this special paradise with a late morning departure back to Goa, where the rest of your day is free. (B)
DAY 5: Goa - Cumbarjua Canal - Goa.
Cruise along the Cumbarjua Canal today, where you may spot myriad bird life including kingfisher, egrets and cormorants. Keep your eyes peeled and hopefully you will spot famous Indian Mugger crocodiles as they bask in the sun before diving into the water. Rarely seen in other parts of India, the Cumbarjua Canal offers a rare opportunity to see these crocodiles in the wild. Later, visit a typical Hindu temple before driving to a spice plantation. A knowledgeable guide will take you on a short tour around the plantation, acquainting you with famous spices such as pepper, cardamom and cinnamon. Afterwards, enjoy a Hindu style Goan meal. (L)
DAY 6: Goa - Dudhsagar Waterfalls - Goa.
Journey into Goa's dense forests this morning, as you drive to the famous Dudhsagar waterfalls. Meaning 'Sea of Milk', Dudhsagar is located near the Goa-Karnataka border and is the fifth highest waterfall in India. A coach then a short jeep ride will take you through lush vegetation to the base of the falls where you can swim, sunbathe or just relax in the Kipling-esque surroundings. (L)
DAY 7: Goa - Grand Island - Goa.
Today, cruise from Goa to Grand Island. Look out for dolphins as you make your way to the island, where you will have the opportunity to swim or snorkel in the clear waters, or try your hand at fishing. After spending time on this fabulous island, cruise to a secluded beach on the mainland where you can relax and enjoy a BBQ lunch. (L)
DAY 8: Goa.
Today is at leisure to independently discover more of Goa, or to just relax on the beach.
