Highlights of Australia

Howard Gould 01/07/2015

Thank you for your ‘Welcome Home’ letter – and yes, we had a wonderful trip – a true voyage of discovery. The infrastructure of the tour went like clockwork – if there was a clipboard, then our names were on it and we were expected at every hotel. We were a tad late arriving owing to a late departure from Dubai as a passenger became ill prior to take off and had to be taken off the plane, but we were still met in Melbourne. It was a brilliant trip, the perfect 21st birthday / graduation present for my son – Alice Springs and Ayers Rock were our favourite places, but I did enjoy the Blue Mountains Tour and ATTKings coaches were excellent throughout. I did think that the majority of the optional tour were a tad pricey, but that is purely my opinion.

The only issue occurred when we tried to fly back from Sydney. An hour delay owing to a technical problem and another technical problem in mid air which caused flight EK143 to divert to Colombo in Sri Lankha – where we stayed for a few hours in an hotel before being shipped out to Dubai where we spent another night in an hotel. We eventually made it back to Birmingham exactly 24 hours late. My wife did notify you of this and we were met by the rescheduled taxi and returned to Repton, Derbyshire. In all, it was an experience and a half and I would do it all again despite reliability issues with Emirates!

Thank you for your request.
