DAY 1 : UK - Zurich.

Fly to Zurich where you will be met by our representative and transferred to your hotel for one night. Includes Dinner

DAY 2 : Zurich - Appenzell - Liechtenstein - St Moritz.

Drive amongst the spectacular scenery of some of Switzerland's most famous cantons, stopping first at the old town of Appenzell with its quaint wooden houses and legendary 'Landsgemeindeplatz', a centuries-old meeting place. Next, head through the tiny principality of Liechtenstein to its ancient capital Vaduz, before travelling through the Rhine Valley and the impressive Julier Pass, an important transport route since Roman times. Stay two nights in the stylish Swiss ski resort of St Moritz, famous for its stunning mountain scenery and superb shopping. Includes Breakfast

DAY 3 : St. Moritz.

Enjoy a whole day to explore this scenic Engadine valley resort. Renowned for its stunning forest, lake and mountain setting and an average of 322 days of sunshine per year, St. Moritz is comprised of two villages separated by a mile of lake shore - St. Moritz Dorf and St. Moritz Bad. Extending up the slope from the lake, terraced Dorf is a tapestry of grand hotels, upscale boutiques and traditional Engadine architecture, characterised by arched wooden doors, small deep-set windows and artistically etched facades. Neighbouring Bad is known for its ice rink, mineral and mud baths and energetic nightlife. Includes Breakfast, Dinner

DAY 4 : St. Moritz - Bernina Express to Tirano - Lake Como - Lugano

Today, experience a memorable railway trip aboard the Bernina Express. Crossing the Alps to Tirano in Italy, this spectacular rail journey takes you to heights of more than 6,560 feet. Later, rejoin your coach for a journey along the shores of beautiful Lake Como, crossing the Swiss border to the lovely lakeside town of Lugano for one night. Includes Breakfast

DAY 5 : Lugano - Lake Maggiore - Zermatt.

In the morning there's time to explore Lugano, described as having the 'gaiety and romance of Italy, encased in a Swiss precision watch', before heading into Italy and on to view the glorious, crystal-clear waters of Lake Maggiore, surrounded by towering mountains and lush countryside. Return to Switzerland via the scenic Simplon Pass, and then on to car-free Zermatt for one night. Includes Breakfast, Dinner

DAY 6 : Zermatt - Lake Geneva.

This morning, enjoy some free time to stroll through Zermatt and maybe take a break to sample the local fare, like raclette, fondue or hand-made chocolate, or shop for an authentic Swiss watch. Next experience the mountain of all mountains; Matterhorn. Later, take the train back to Täsch, where you will rejoin the coach to travel through the vineyards and apricot groves of the lower Rhône Valley to crescent-shaped Lake Geneva. Includes Breakfast, Dinner

DAY 7 : Lausanne area.

Spend the day at leisure exploring the UNESCO World Heritage site of the Lavaux terraced vineyards or relaxing at the hotel. Alternatively join the optional excursion to charming cosmopolitan Geneva, with its cobblestoned old town and the "Palais des Nations", European Headquarters of the United Nations. Includes Breakfast

DAY 8 : Lausanne area - Gruyère - Berne - Lake Thun - Interlaken - Lucerne area.

First stop is the famous cheese-making town of Gruyère and a visit to a local cheese factory. Then it's on to Switzerland's beautiful capital, Berne, standing on a rocky peninsula overlooking the Aare River and offering lots of opportunities for sightseeing and shopping. Continuing along the shores of Lake Thun, enjoy a stop in Interlaken, magnificently set in the foothills of the Jungfrau Mountains at an altitude of 1,870 feet, before heading across the Brünig Pass to Lucerne for one night. Includes Breakfast

DAY 9 : Lucerne area - Zurich

See the best of Lucerne, one of Switzerland's most charming medieval cities, on an included visit. Later, there is a chance to take an exciting excursion to Mount Stanserhorn or a boat cruise on the lake before leaving for Zurich in the late afternoon. Includes Breakfast

DAY 10 : Zurich - UK.

Transfer to the airport for your flight to the UK. Includes Breakfast

Bernina Express

The Bernina Express offers breathtaking vistas from its beautiful cars. Ride over graceful viaducts, through galleries hewn into the sheer rock, through switch-back tunnels, alongside rushing mountain streams, glaciers and even an alpine garden. Technical buffs will enjoy knowing that the train climbs up to the 7,390 feet high Bernina Pass without the help of a rack-and-pinion mechanism.

Very disappointed with Lugano stop. Very little time to see lake as hotel away from the lake and the following morning left no time to go and see. The hotel was substandard, dirty, appalling breakfast felt very second class to regular guests and woul...
