Itinerary Map

DAY 1 : UK - New York.

Fly to New York City where you transfer to your hotel for two nights.

DAY 2 : New York City.

The 'Big Apple' is one of the world's most exciting cities, buzzing with atmosphere and packed with fascinating sights and great shops. On today's sightseeing tour, see New York City's major attractions including Broadway, the Empire State Building, Greenwich Village, bustling Chinatown, City Hall, Wall Street and Trinity Church. This evening choose from the many fine restaurants the city has to offer or enjoy one of the famous Broadway shows.

DAY 3 : New York City - Pocono Mountains - Niagara Falls.

Leave Manhattan and head north-west through the renowned Pocono Mountains and the scenic farmlands of upstate New York. Later this afternoon, cross the border and proceed to the Canadian side of the Niagara River in the province of Ontario.

DAY 4 : Niagara Falls.

The power of Mother Nature overwhelms the senses as you marvel at Niagara Falls, one of the world's most incredible natural spectacles. In the morning enjoy an included sightseeing tour that offers spectacular views of the waterfalls from scenic points on the rim of the gorge and from the decks of the sightseeing cruise, where you will experience the thundering columns of water up close. The afternoon is free, so why not visit attractions such as the Butterfly Conservatory, Great Gorge Adventure, Botanical Gardens, Niagara Parks Greenhouse or ride the aerial cable car? NOTE: The Niagara Falls sightseeing cruise only operates between 1 April and 30 November and is subject to favourable weather and/or river conditions. Usually these conditions exist from May to the end of October. When unfavourable conditions exist, a walking tour through the scenic tunnels will be offered.

DAY 5 : Niagara Falls - Philadelphia.

Head south-east, through the Appalachian Mountains and into the Susquehanna River Valley. Then it's on to the handsome city of Philadelphia for an overnight stay.

DAY 6 : Philadelphia - Washington DC area.

The 'City of Brotherly Love' is also the birthplace of American Independence, and is therefore steeped in history. The morning orientation tour focuses on the city's historic landmarks. There will be free time in which you can visit Independence Hall, see the Liberty Bell and other sites within Independence National Historic Park. Afterwards, continue to the US capital and seat of government, Washington DC.

DAY 7 : Washington DC area.

This morning enjoy a sightseeing tour with a local guide that includes a visit to Arlington National Cemetery and see the graves of American heroes, including those of John F Kennedy and his brother Robert. After, visit the Lincoln Memorial with photo stops at Capitol Hill and the White House. Afternoon and evening are at leisure. Why not visit historic Union Station for a great international lunch.

DAY 8 : Washington DC area - UK.

Transfer to the airport for your flight to the UK, or extend your stay in Washington, New York or with a cruise.

DAY 9 : Home landing in the UK.

NOTE: If you wish to extend your stay in New York, the transfer from Washington is by coach on the last day of your tour.

We found the 2 days travelling to and from Niagara very long and tiring with only service station stops.

01-Nov-2016

Loved them both. Really enjoyed Mark taking us round. Especially moved by the 9/11 memorial. Washington excellent too. Loved the evening tour and the visit to Arlington, Capitol and the White House. Only one problem was the arrangements for transport...

06-Oct-2016

Did not expect a suite on the top floor of the Excelsior.

04-Oct-2016

the places were wonderful but some of the hotels let Archers down. Most had seen better days. Rooms in some were dirty, broken plugs off walls, paper peeling off walls which was a very big let down. The worst thing about some of the hotels was where ...

26-Sep-2016

We saw all we expected and more besides in a short space of time which is what we wanted. The only feedback would be the poor rotation of coach seats. Previous trips we rotated in a clockwise direction every 3 or 4 rows which worked very well, howev...

07-Jul-2016

It's not my idea of a escorted holiday. The 3 best excursions we had to pay for ourselves and archers provided one free excursion .

07-Jul-2016

The holiday overall was very good and interesting with so much information, but I am giving a "good" as there was too much to do and not enough time to do it all comfortably. This holiday was very packed out, with some very early starts and therefor...

03-Jul-2016

Hotels all too far out from location we were visiting. Early start on trips meant no time to have breakfast apart from McDonalds or Starbucks. Coach sub standard and only one door when 53 people on the coach! Tour guide - ex principal of high school ...

30-Jun-2016

The holiday was excellent with a very good guide (France) . The only downside was we asked for two rooms next to each other. As we were travelling with our son with autism and a family friend who is female. On arrival at the excelsior hotel in New Yo...

archers tour director was very welcoming and warm

28-Jun-2016

We would have appreciated the reasons before we left why there were no breakfasts included especially as the hotels were very good.

14-Jun-2016

After arriving at New York hotel at 11.30pm I felt a little bit cheated on '2' nights in New York. Would be better with 2 nights in Philadelphia - 6pm arrival in the city and departure before lunch the following day.
