This morning's city tour of Lima's historic and UNESCO registered downtown, includes visits to the Presidential Palace, Lima Cathedral and Saint Francis church. Later, explore the Miraflores and San Isidro districts. End the day with spectacular views over Lima's Bay from Love Park. Includes Breakfast
Start today with an early flight to Peru's second largest city, Arequipa. Situated in an exquisite valley, the city has fantastic 17th and 18th century architecture. This afternoon, begin with a stop at the Carmen Alto Scenic Viewpoint, before continuing to the traditional Yanahuara quarter. A maze of cobblestone streets lead to one of the most emblematic churches of the Cusco mestizo art school, built in 1750. Then, on to the downtown area and a visit to the beautiful Main Square. Leave the city through Yura, a district characterised by impressive geographical features. Journey through the Pampa Cañahuas Reserve, an extensive plain populated by vicuñas, native and tamable Andean camelids that are a national symbol. Next visit Vizcachani, the Toccra Pampas and skirt the crater of the Chucura Volcano to reach the Los Andes Scenic Viewpoint in Patapampa, at 15,846 feet, the viewpoint offers an opportunity to see the various volcanoes that surround Arequipa. Following lunch at Chivay town, the afternoon is spent at leisure where you may choose to visit the local hot springs. Includes Breakfast, Lunch
Today stop at the Condor Cross, offering spectacular views over the Colca Valley, one of the world's deepest canyons. En route visit the Pinchollo, Maca, Achoma and Yanque towns and the Antahuilque and Choquetico scenic viewpoints. Continue to Puno City via Patahuasi. The drive is peppered by scenes of stone forests and blue lagoons. Includes Breakfast, Lunch
Upon arrival at Puno's lake port, a boat will take you to the floating islands of the Uros. Uros are an ancestral society that inhabits a series of artificial islands built with totora, a reef that grows in the lake. Continue to the Taquile Island. Unlike other islands, inhabited by Aymara-speaking people in the lake, its residents speak Quechua. It was part of the Inca Empire and it is possible to note vestiges of said culture in their buildings. Upon arrival, receive a brief introduction to the island and attend a cultural activity. Arrive back in Puno after lunch, where the rest of the day is at leisure. Includes Breakfast, Lunch
Today begins with a visit to Pucará Lithic Museum, located in the Pucará town, the museum has a collection of zoomorphic sculptures in addition to steles and monoliths with sophisticated details. We make a short stop at Raya, at 15,846 feet, it is the highest point of the road between Puno and Cusco. After enjoying lunch in the Sicuani town, continue to the Racchi ruins, visit the Temple of Wiracocha, the Sun God of the Incas. Our next stop will be Andahuaylillas Church, built in the 16th century and known as "The Sistine Chapel of the Americas" due to the intricate works of art that it houses. A seven hour journey sees our arrival to Cusco for two nights. Includes Breakfast, Lunch
Today starts at the Coricancha, also known as "The Temple of the Sun, which was built by Inca Pachacutec and became the base of the Santo Domingo Convent. At the Coricancha homage was paid to the Sun ("Inti") during the Inca Empire, a time when the whole building was covered with gold. You will then visit Sacsayhuaman, a World Cultural Heritage Site and one of the most emblematic constructions of the Incas built by the Pachacutec in the 15th century. Spend time at other smaller but also important ruins. Return to the city to the impressive cathedral which took nearly a century to complete. Includes Breakfast
Begin with a tour at the Pisac market, where the residents sell beautiful alpaca textiles, musical instruments, paintings, carvings, necklaces and replicas of ancient Inca pieces. After lunch, continue to the village of Ollantaytambo, a typical example an Incan settlement, the fortress of is a major archaeological site that although it was called a "fortress" it was a "tambo" town for rest and lodging of long distance travellers. It is without doubt one of the most monumental works of the empire. Includes Breakfast, Lunch
A spectacular day taking in Machu Picchu begins with a train ride to Aguas Calientes. The town is also known as "Machu Picchu pueblo" and is the last stop before the entrance to the remains of the most important archaeological site in Peru. Finally, after a short transfer reach Machu Picchu,which means "Old Mountain", is considered a World Heritage by UNESCO and one of the new Seven Wonders of the World. In the afternoon, board the train back to Ollanta station. Arrive in Cusco where the rest of the day is at leisure. Includes Breakfast, Lunch

Excellent although some long days travelling
The itinerary was well balanced with one exception. There are too many churches included. On certain days there were 2 or even 3 churches on the agenda when interesting alternatives like museums were nearby
