DAY 2: St Petersburg.

Admire St Petersburg's historic centre on an included tour this morning and take in highlights such as the Old Stock Exchange and Rostral Columns, the impressive Winter Palace façade, Peter & Paul Fortress, and Nevsky Prospect with its ornate onion-domed Church of the Resurrection and beautiful St Isaac Cathedral. After lunch, visit the world-famous Hermitage Museum. This evening, enjoy either an optional excursion to a Russian folklore show or an optional 'Rivers and Canals' tour. (B, L, D)

Today's optional excursion takes you to Pushkin, home to the luxurious summer palaces of former Russian royalty. Visit Catherine Palace to marvel at the many lavish chambers, such as the famed Amber Room, before heading to nearby Peterhof where you will visit the beautiful lower park and see the exterior of the palace. This evening, set sail on the Neva River and enjoy a 'Getting to Know You' show on board. (B, L, D)

DAY 5: Kizhi.

Cruise to Lake Onega's picturebook island of Kizhi for a visit to the impressive Museum of Wooden Architecture. Back on board, this afternoon's activities include a Captain's bridge tour and a Russian tea party, followed by a classical concert in the evening. (B, L, D)

DAY 6: Goritsy.

After breakfast, enjoy a traditional Russian song class before cruising across the White Lake to Goritsy, a quaint village settlement near the famous Kirill-Belosersk (St Cyril) Monastery. This afternoon, visit the monastery's intriguing Museum of Icons. Tonight, enjoy a pirate themed dinner before this evening's concert. (B, L, D)

DAY 7: Yaroslavl.

This morning, arrive in Yaroslavl, one of Russia's 'Golden Ring of Cities'. View the city's highlights on an included bus tour to see the exterior of the Church of Elijah the Prophet before visiting the colourful local market, the Church of St Nicholas the Miracle-worker, and the Governor's House art exhibition. This evening, enjoy a Ukrainian dinner on board followed by a gala concert. (B, L, D)

DAY 8: Uglich.

Another 'Golden Ring' city, Uglich is one of Russia's best-loved towns. Explore this fascinating 12th-century village on a walking tour including the former Kremlin, the haunting Church of St Dmitry on the Blood, and the Transfiguration Cathedral. This afternoon, enjoy a Russian language lesson and a farewell dinner before getting the chance to star in tonight's talent show. (B, L, D)

DAY 9: Moscow.

This morning, sail the Moscow Canal to Russia's enigmatic capital, one of the world's most impressive and interesting cities.
