Begin today with one of the real highlights of your tour - a visit to the beautiful subterranean world of the Postojna Caves, the largest known cave system in Slovenia and one of Europe's most extensive underground networks. Enjoy a mini-train ride through the caves to admire the diverse and captivating stalactite and stalagmite formations. Later, head across the border into Croatia and along the Dalmatian Coast to Zadar, a picturesque, historic town and the former capital of Dalmatia, for sightseeing and an overnight stay. The area has a chequered history of rulers, from centuries under Venetian domination and Austro-Hungarian rule prior to World War I, to Italy and, after World War II, Yugoslavia. Now it is part of Croatia: free, busy and full of life. Includes Breakfast, Dinner
Journey to the beautiful coastal town of Split, Croatia's largest city, spectacularly set overlooking the gleaming waters of the Adriatic. Rich with a varied and vibrant history, Split is dominated by the splendid Palace of Diocletian, a renowned UNESCO World Heritage Site. Enjoy the city's highlights on an included sightseeing tour before continuing further along the Dalmatian Coast to the picturesque port of Dubrovnik for two nights. Includes Breakfast
Known as the 'Pearl of the Adriatic', Dubrovnik is perched on a promontory that juts into the sparkling blue waters of the Adriatic Sea. As one of the Dalmatian Coast's most beautiful resorts, the city is famed for its striking buildings, squares and fortified walls as well as its plentiful shops, cafés and restaurants. For an insight into the history of this beautifully preserved medieval city, enjoy a walk around the city on the included sightseeing tour. Includes Breakfast
Journey across the border into Bosnia-Herzegovina and relax on a scenic drive through the rugged countryside of the Neretva Valley, a luscious and fertile area rich in wildlife and dissected by a vast, sparkling river. Next, enjoy a stop in the former Turkish garrison town of Mostar, now the chief city of Herzegovina, to view the Stari Most Old Bridge, after which the city is named. Later, visit the historic city of Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia-Herzegovina and a city with a distinctly Turkish influence. The included sightseeing tour provides an excellent opportunity to get acquainted with the city and its architectural highlights including mosques, markets and bazaars. Includes Breakfast, Dinner
Cross the border back into Croatia for a visit to one of the country's best-known landmarks, the spectacularly scenic expanse of Plitvice Lakes National Park. Unspoilt and beautiful, the area blends rocky, natural wilderness and abundant rich flora, with 16 glimmering turquoise-blue lakes and lush wooded hills peppered with cascading waterfalls. Join the included walking tour with great views of some of the beautiful lakes before staying overnight in the area. Includes Breakfast, Dinner

Your good but optional excursions expensive for return
It was a good tour lots to see ,but on saying that it was a very tiring tour ,tried to cram to much into 6 days needs more days ,also when guides that are taking you around they walk far to quickly and it's very hard to keep up with them .

Wonderful scenery and absorbing destinations with an excellent tour guide/manager who had the right balance of humour, knowledge and patience. Surprised by the large number of tourists on the tour bus so late in the season. Hotels generally Good Standard but included evening meals very variable. Glad we went but would have appreciated another 1 night stay at one of the overnight stops..

The overall tour, even though is quite manic and tiring, it does give a good variety of both history and scenary. There is a bit of time spent on the coach but we expected that from when we did an Italy tour last year, also this is the only way to get to see everything. The hotels were quite basic but comfortable - the one in Dubrovnik was the best - also the food. Some of the food was a bit limited but we did have the chance to eat out on a couple of occasions. The places we visited were very individual and unique which made the tour really. I personally thought Mostar was beautiful (which surprised me) and walking around the wall in Dubrovnik was an experience. We also went to Lake Bled in Slovenia at the end of the holiday (organised through Oki) - would definitely recommend doing this and have fed back that this should also be included within the tour as it was stunning. Overall a lovely holiday and would recommend if you want to see alot of places - but don't book if you think that it will be relaxing as to be honest you will feel like you need a holiday when you return! Would go with Archers again.
Very good tour, the only down side really was the amount of time on the coach, which was not helped by going through so many borders. Tour director Oki was excellent.
Holiday was very good even though the pace was a bit hectic. Only thing which lets the holiday down is the optional excursions. Both are waste of money and time.

Some beautiful scenery although much of the time just seeing it from the coach. windows. We visited some very attractive and interesting places with our excellent tour guide, Oki, being full of information and interesting tales. The Postojna caves were incredible and .Dubrovnik, Zadar and Split full of beauty and history. Mostar and Sarajevo in Bosnia left quite an impression as we were unaware of the amount of damage still evident after over twenty years. Interesting but an unusual summer holiday experience.
We finished the trip with a visit to the amazing Plitvice National Park and a .city tour of beautiful Ljubijana .
Good hotels although the meals were very repetitive - soup, chicken and apple strudel usually , even on the evening excursion.
Over all, a good week . We were taken great care of by our tour director who needed the patience of a saint at all the border crossings but he was brilliant from start to finish and really added to the enjoyment of the holiday.

This trip worked for me exactly as I had hoped. The tour leader Wentz was very efficient, informative and entertaining. I laughed a lot and learned a lot. I chose this trip because Serbia was not included in the itinerary. The standard of our driver Tome was very high in spite of very difficult roads. I was able to include some things of my own choosing such as having more time in Zagreb to study the tramway system, travel from Zagreb to Ljubljana by train and a visit to Ljubljana railway museum on the last day. Wentz saw to it that my case was taken on ahead to Ljubljana so that it was at the hotel ready when I arrived several hours after the other members. The only slightly negative aspects were that I would have liked more legroom on the coach and perhaps one extra day to mitigate the very long coach journey from Sarajevo to Plitvice. The hotel in Zadar was a bit far from the centre and no public transport. I would liked to have had a stroll by the sea after dinner. Overall though a very enjoyable tour which encourages me to revisit several of the locations.
I did not get the chance to comment on my Alaska and the Yukon tour last year. I put that in my top 5 best holidays ever.
