Your Itinerary
DAY 1: UK - Naples - Sorrento.
Fly to Naples where you will be met by our representative and transferred to your chosen hotel in Sorrento. (Meals as per hotel details).
DAY 2 to 7: Sorrento.
During your week on the delightful Neapolitan Riviera, you can pretty much spend the time as you please. No trip to this region is complete without visiting Pompeii, the town devasted by the Vesuvius eruption in 79AD, so we have included a visit during your stay, which will usually take place on day two of your holiday. For the remainder of your holiday, there are many optional excursions that are available to book locally. Once you have seen Pompeii, you are sure to want to explore Herculaneum, smaller than Pompeii, this was once a seaside town that attracted rich Romans who loved its tranquility and location at the foot of Mount Vesuvius. Like Pompeii, Herculaneum was destroyed in the same eruption, this time by a torrent of liquid mud and debris. Here you can see buildings preserved, many almost completely in tact. A guided tour will give you a fascinating insight into how life used to be in Roman times. Other ideas of what to do include a visit to Capri, known as the 'Gem of the Mediterranean'. Separated from Sorrento by the Bay of Naples, the island of Capri has long been a favourite resort for the rich and powerful. The island is a unique blend of laid back island life, beautiful scenery and of course glitz and glamour. Perhaps visit Naples, the capital of the Campania region of Italy and definitely worth a day trip. Wander through the streets of the historic centre and visit the Duomo of Naples with the Crypt of Saint Gennaro, the patron saint of the city. If choosing to stay close to your hotel, you will not be disappointed with the resort of Sorrento, famed for its breathtaking views and enchanting atmosphere. With its many shops, boutiques, cafes and bars and its close proximity to Pompeii and Herculaneum with majestic Mount Vesuvius as a backdrop, Sorrento has all the ingredients for a perfect one or two week holiday. DAY 8: Sorrento - Naples - UK.
Transfer to Naples for your flight to the UK or perhaps stay on for another week in Sorrento. (B)

Pompeii - included half day excursion
Visit the ancient city of Pompeii on this included half day excursion, a local guide will accompany you to make this once thriving sea port come to life! Walk along the original streets where you can still see the marks made by the Roman chariots all those years ago! Wander past the remains of villas that once belonged to the rich Roman merchants, the temples, market place and shops all destroyed in 79AD when this city was engulfed in a blanket of ash from mighty Vesuvius.
Amalfi Coast - optional half day excursion
Join us on a guided tour along what has been described as 'the most beautiful coastline in the world'. Travel along the winding coastal path, looking up to the towering Lattari Mountains that reach a height of approx 3000 feet above, and gaze across the emerald green waters of the Bay of Salerno. Due to the weather conditions in this region over winter, the soft limestone rock has been worn away in places to create incredible rock formations, with the most famous being 'Head of Garibaldi' and the 'Madonna with her baby'. Don't forget your cameras on this trip as you will want to leave with lots of memories of this stunning coastline. There is also time to explore the little town of Amalfi with its famous cathedral of St Andrew dating back to the 9th century.
Coastal cruise - optional full day excursion
For something a bit more relaxing, how about venturing out on a mini cruise, designed for you to make the most of the sun, sea and stunning coastline of this region. Board your boat, the Marine Club and sit yourself in the sun or perhaps under a slight shade and take in the views. First sail over to the island of Capri where there is a chance to stop and swim in the clear waters. After Capri it is on to Positano where weather permitting it is possible to go ashore by tender (small additional charge) and spend a couple of hours exploring another resort on this coastline, or you can choose to go on to Amalfi and discover this old Maritime republic.
