Your Itinerary
DAY 1: Depart UK.
DAY 2: Arrive Nairobi - Arusha (Kilimanjaro) - Tarangire.
Upon arrival in Arusha, you will be met by our representative and, after lunch at a local restaurant, driven to Tarangire. Enjoy a game drive en route to your lodge. Offering fabulous panoramic views of rolling savannah dotted with acacia and baobab trees, the density of wildlife in Tarangire National Park is second only to the Ngorongoro Crater. Look out for herds of elephants, wildebeest, buffalo and zebra; as well as lions and leopards slinking through the undergrowth. (L, D)
DAY 3: Tarangire - Ngorongoro.
Take a morning game drive before returning to your lodge for lunch. Later, depart for your lodge located near the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the conservation area includes the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater, the world's largest volcanic caldera. The rest of the day is free to enjoy the facilities at your lodge. (B, L, D)
DAY 4: Ngorongoro - Serengeti.
After breakfast drive to the Serengeti National Park, with game viewing en route to your lodge. Look out for the Big 5 here, as well as the wildebeest migration for which the Serengeti is famous. (B, L, D)
DAY 5: Serengeti.
Today is dedicated to game viewing in the Serengeti. Start with an early game drive to see the park bathed in the golden light of early morning, before returning to your lodge for breakfast. Alternatively take an optional morning balloon flight over the Serengeti followed by a 'bubbly' bush breakfast. After lunch, another late afternoon game drive awaits. As you drive through the savannah, keep your eyes peeled for big cats creeping stealthily through the grass and elephants lumbering between the acacia trees. Those who are lucky may also catch a glimpse of a lion or leopard charging into herds of gazelle - the Serengeti claims to be one of the best places to observe big cats hunting. (B, L, D)
DAY 6: Serengeti - Ngorongoro.
Journey back to Ngorongoro this morning, with a brief visit to Olduvai Gorge en route. Often referred to as The Cradle of Mankind, the Gorge is one of the most important prehistoric sites in the world. Extensive archaeological research carried out in the area uncovered some of the earliest evidence of mankind in the world, dating back 1.9 million years. Continue to your lodge in time for lunch and an afternoon at leisure. (B, L, D)
DAY 7: Ngorongoro.
Drive down into Ngorongoro Crater for half a day of game viewing. This extinct volcano plays host to wildebeest, zebras, buffaloes, gazelles and elephants and is also home to the world's highest density of lions, as well as the endangered black rhino. Time permitting, you may also have the chance to visit a local Masai village. (B, L, D)
DAY 8: Ngorongoro – Arusha (Kilimanjaro) – Nairobi – Mombasa.
Return to Arusha after breakfast for your connecting flight to Nairobi and onward flight to Mombasa.
DAY 9 to 14: Mombasa Beach.
Spend an idyllic week relaxing on the beach.
DAY 15: Mombasa - Nairobi - UK.
Today you will be taken to the airport for your flight back to the UK via Nairobi.
DAY 16: Home landing in the UK.
