DAY 1 : UK - Dallas.

Fly to Dallas where you will transfer to your hotel for 2 nights.

DAY 2 : Dallas.

Today is dedicated to the sights of Dallas beginning with a visit to the legendary Southfork Ranch, where the infamous television series 'Dallas' was filmed. Tour the Ewing Mansion and see the gun that shot JR, Lucy Ewing's wedding dress, the 'Dallas' family tree and Jock Ewing's Lincoln Continental. In the afternoon return to the city for an included sightseeing tour. Start in Pioneer Plaza to see the spectacular sculpture commemorating the 19th-century longhorn cattle drives that took place along the Shawnee Trail. Continue to the Historic West End and Dealey Plaza to see where the assassination of President John F Kennedy took place on 22 November 1963. Included is a visit to the 6th-floor museum and see the window that Lee Harvey Oswald fired from.

DAY 3 : Dallas - Fort Worth.

This morning, travel the short journey to the traditional cowboy city of Fort Worth. Combining cowboys and culture this city is sure to delight you. Visit the Stockyards National Historic District to enjoy a 'Stockyards Experience' by seeing the 'Spirit of the West' movie. Afterwards, meet the drivers/cowboys of the Fort Worth Herd and see a Longhorn cattle drive before visiting the Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame. The museum pays tribute to over 70 cowboys and cowgirls who have excelled in the sport of rodeo and western lifestyle.

DAY 4 : Fort Worth - Austin.

This morning travel to Austin, the 'Live Music Capital of the World'. On arrival visit the Bob Bullock State History Museum which tells the 'Story of Texas', before taking a sightseeing tour around the city that includes Historic Sixth Street, the Texas Capitol complex, Governor's Mansion and the University of Texas. Includes Breakfast

DAY 5 : Austin - San Antonio.

A short drive from Austin is the most visited city in Texas. San Antonio is home to the historic river walk and of course the Alamo. Includes Breakfast

DAY 6 : San Antonio.

After breakfast, enjoy a private narrated cruise down the San Antonio river through the picturesque River Walk area. Continue sightseeing with an included guided visit to San Fernando Cathedral, the oldest in the United States. There is also a visit to downtown to the Mexican marketplace, El Mercado. Afterwards, visit the infamous Alamo. It was here in 1836 that a small band of Texans defended themselves against the Mexican Army, and although the Alamo fell, it remains hallowed ground and symbolises courage and sacrifice for the cause of liberty. The day ends back at River Walk where Spanish colonial architecture, fountains and plazas make it one the city's most picturesque areas. Includes Breakfast

DAY 7 : San Antonio - Fredericksburg - San Antonio.

Texas Hill Country is home to the Lyndon B. Johnson National Historic Park. Discover the story of the 36th President, from his ancestors to his final resting place, at the LBJ Ranch. Visit the Texas White House, including the President's office, living room, dining room, den and yellow sitting room, restored to their 1963-1968 appearance. Next stop is Fredericksburg and there is free time to enjoy this historic town. Visit one of the largest working Wildflower Farms in the U.S. before returning to San Antonio later this afternoon. Includes Breakfast

DAY 8 : San Antonio - Houston.

Arrive in Houston in the afternoon and enjoy a sightseeing tour of 'Bayou City', which includes the theatre district, then visit downtown Houston's tunnel system, an interconnected series of restaurants, shops and world-class architecture. Includes Breakfast

DAY 9 : Houston.

Today's highlight is a visit to the Johnson Space Centre, home of NASA and the US Space Programme. Here you will have the opportunity to view the interactive NASA displays before taking a guided tram tour past some of the Space Centre's most iconic facilities - visit the Historic Mission Control Centre and Saturn V Rocket, the most powerful moon rocket ever built and one of only three moon rockets remaining in the world. NOTE: The buildings visited on this tour are real working areas of the Space Centre and are subject to closure without notice. Includes Breakfast

DAY 10 : Houston - Lafayette.

Today, drive past fertile prairies, delicate marshes and abundant wildlife into Lafayette in Louisiana. Board a cruise through the winding, swampy waterways of the Atchafalaya Basin. Includes Breakfast

DAY 11 : Layfayette - New Orleans

Begin your day with a guided visit to the Houmas House Plantation and Gardens, a former sugar plantation which survived the American Civil War. Continue across Bayou Country into New Orleans, the capital of Dixieland. Upon arrival, a guided sightseeing tour features the best of the 'City Care Forgot', featuring the French Quarter landmarks of the St Louis Cathedral, Jackson Square and an above ground cemetery. Includes Breakfast

DAY 12 : New Orleans - UK.

Transfer to the airport for your flight to the UK, or extend your stay in New Orleans. Includes Breakfast

DAY 13 : Land home in the UK.

This evening, why not join the optional outing to the Fort Worth Rodeo and experience bull riding, bareback riding, tie-down roping, barrel racing, and more? Overnight in Fort Worth.

All hotels should be Drury Inns as these were better standard.Hotel at Lafayette was worst as this was dirty and we would not dare eat the included breakfast.Also the step on guide in Austin was confusing tour director and coach driver could have do...

The holiday was excellent marred only by the terrible service provided by the Dallas/Fort Worth Airport city shuttle to the hotel. I know for a fact that many others on the same tour felt exactly the same.
