This afternoon, drive to Gedser and cross by ferry to Rostock before continuing to the German capital, Berlin, for one night. Includes Breakfast

DAY 3 : Berlin - Poznan.

Berlin was once a city of contrasts but since the dividing wall came down, it has developed into a harmonious blend of old and new, preserving its old heritage buildings, such as the State Opera House and Brandenburg Gate, its neoclassical style boulevards, such as the Kurfurstendamm and the Unter den Linden, as well as creating brand new buildings in the most modern architectural styles. Germany's capital is now culturally one of the most fascinating, lively and interesting cities in Europe. There's time to explore the city at your own pace, or perhaps join the optional sightseeing tour, before you journey to Poznan, the former capital of Poland, for one night. Includes Breakfast, Dinner

DAY 4 : Poznan - Warsaw.

Journey through the Polish countryside to Warsaw, the country's capital. Much of this beautiful city was destroyed during World War II, but has been lovingly restored to its former glory. The magnificent Royal Way is lined with an array of impressive churches, palaces, art galleries and museums. The optional city sightseeing tour will show you the best of the city's historic landmarks, including a wealth of fine Renaissance, Baroque and Gothic architecture. Includes Breakfast

This morning, journey into Latvia for a visit to the Baroque Palace of Rundale, the former summer residence of the Duke of Courland. Built in the 18th century, the palace was designed by the great architect Rastrelli, who also designed the Winter Palace in St Petersburg. Later, travel amidst picturesque countryside to Riga, the Latvian capital, for two nights. Includes Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

DAY 8 : Riga.

Formerly owned by Poland, Sweden, Russia and Germany, Riga is a diverse and beautiful city, strategically located at the head of the Gulf of Riga, an arm of the Baltic Sea. The Old Town is a kaleidoscope of architectural styles, where old houses and lofty church spires flank narrow cobblestone streets dotted amongst the riverbanks, parks and canals. The included sightseeing tour introduces the city's best highlights. Includes Breakfast

Far older than the country of which it is the capital, Tallinn has many fine medieval buildings. Our included sightseeing tour includes visits to the elegant Empire-style palace on Senate Square and the cathedral. After free time this afternoon, board your overnight ferry to the Swedish capital, Stockholm. Includes Breakfast

Baltic States, Russia and Scandinavia

J.R. Sansome 10/08/2014

My wife and I have recently returned from an Archers Baltic States, Russia and Scandinavia tour. It was brilliant, so much to see and so we thoroughly enjoyed it. Our tour party was 26 and 9 nationalities, we found this ideal.

Audrey, our tour director, was the best we have ever had and we have been on many coach tours in Europe, USA, Canada, China and S. Africa. With Anne the coach driver, they made a perfect pair and were a credit to your company. Audrey even arranged extra guided tours by himself for the group in the evenings with no extra cost. Brilliant!

We look forward to another Archers tour, it will be hard to beat this one!!

We’ve returned from your Baltic States Trip and It was a fascinating insight into that area of the world, brought to use with customary Archers efficiency and attention to detail. We would like to commend your Tour Director, Andrej Schergin, to you. We’ve been on so many trips over the years and feel that he is the best Tour Director we have ever encountered. Nothing was too much trouble. He was immaculate, informative, polite – providing us with all the information we needed before we asked. No questions necessary! He was fastidious about organisation. He learned our names and used them (we’ve found that this is becoming rarer and often wonder how certain tour leaders would cope in an emergency when they don’t seem to know their passengers very well!)

Overall Andrej made a complex trip a joy to experience. Also, our drive, Arne was really first class and we felt totally at ease being driven over great distances by him. We wanted you to know about such excellence and about the difference it made to our enjoyment.
