Your Itinerary
DAY 1: UK - Lamezia.
Fly to Lamezia where you will be met and transferred to your chosen hotel on the Tyrrhenian Coast. The rest of the day is at leisure to get to know your resort. (Meals as per hotel details).
DAY 2: At Leisure.
Today is yours to settle into your hotel and begin to explore your resort and the local area, on this beautiful stretch of coast. Perhaps spend the morning on the beach or by the hotel pool simply relaxing. (Meals as per hotel details).
DAY 3: Included coastal drive and Tropea visit.
A visit to the Tyrrhenian region wouldn't be complete without seeing some of its dramatic coastline. Your included half day coastal drive will showcase some of the stunning scenery, rocky coves and lush green, tropical vegetation, so make sure you have your camera. Starting at Capo Vaticano with its fantastic panorama over the Aeolian Islands and Sicily, you will have the chance to taste the regions famous spicy pork sausage, the Nduja. We then make our way back to Tropea, where you will have time to explore its quaint narrow streets, before returning to your hotel early afternoon. (Meals as per hotel details).
DAY 4: Aeolian Islands boat excursion.
Having already enjoyed great views of the sea, today we will take you on a boat trip to the delightful Aeolian Islands, a volcanic archipelago in the Tyrrhenian Sea. First stop is the main island of Lipari, renowned today as the main centre of pumice stone production. Next, we visit the aptly name Vulcano Island, famous for its hot springs and sulphur mud baths which can easily be reached from the harbour. Perhaps experience the baths for yourself before we head to our final island, Stromboli, probably the most famous of all because of its active volcano of the same name. You will return to your resort in time for dinner. (Meals as per hotel details).
DAY 5: At Leisure.
Enjoy another full day either relaxing at your hotel or exploring at your own pace. We also have a range of optional excursions you may like to choose from. (Meals as per hotel details).
DAY 6: Sicily excursion and Taormina visit.
This morning join our included excursion to Sicily, when we head to Villa San Giovanni and a short ferry crossing to Messina. On arrival, we will drive along the panoramic coast to Taormina, a lovely resort town with breathtaking views of the coast and Mount Etna, dominated by two sweeping bays. Explore the town, making sure you head to Piazza Nove Aprile at its heart, set on a precipice overlooking the sea. You will also have time to visit the impressive Greek amphitheatre overlooking the town, as well as stroll the Corso Umberto with its shops and narrow cobbled alleyways, and make sure you sample some Sicilian cuisine; you will have plenty of restaurants, trattorias and cafes to chose from. Late afternoon, we retrace our steps to the port and return you to your hotel in time for dinner. (Meals as per hotel details).
DAY 7: At Leisure.
Another day to relax and do as you please. (Meals as per hotel details).
DAY 8 to 14: At Leisure.
Remain in your hotel for an extra week and spend this time however you choose. (Meals as per hotel details).
DAY 15: Lamezia - UK.
Transfer to the airport for your return flight to the UK. (Meals as per hotel details).
