Your Itinerary

DAY 1: Overnight flight to Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon).

DAY 2: Arrival in Ho Chi Minh City.

On arrival in Ho Chi Minh City you will be transferred to your hotel for two nights.

DAY 3: Ho Chi Minh City.

Formerly known as Saigon, Ho Chi Minh City is a vibrant city that offers something for everyone. Make the most of a full day at leisure, perhaps visiting the Historical Museum, Reunification Hall or the War Remnants Museum. (B)

DAY 4: Ho Chi Minh City.

Today you will be transferred to the port in My Tho to embark your ship, RV Jayavarman. Enjoy a welcome cocktail reception as your ship sets sail along the waterways of the Can Gio Mangrove Biosphere Reserve. (B, D)

DAY 5: Cai Be.

Enjoy a visit today to the bustling and colourful floating market at Cai Be on a local sampan. During the ride you will witness breathtaking landscapes and rustic life on the river. This afternoon, cruise to Sa Dec and take a sampan tour to Binh Thanh Island where you can watch villagers at work on local crafts. (B, L, D)

DAY 6: Chau Doc.

After breakfast, join a boat excursion to floating villages and catfish farms. Take time to explore Chau Doc, a fascinating town with French colonial buildings and a market full of tropical fruits where you can also see colourful textiles being woven on traditional wooden looms. (B, L, D)

DAY 7: Phnom Penh.

This morning, there is a city tour of the historical capital of Cambodia. Don't miss the dazzling white and gold architecture of the Royal Palace, the displays of Khmer crafts at the National Museum and Wat Phnom, a hill-top temple. After lunch, there will be an excursion to the infamous 'Killing Fields', the site of the Khmer Rouge detention centre in Cambodia's dark days of violent civil war. (B, L, D)

DAY 8: Chong Koh - Angkor Ban - Kampong Cham.

This morning, arrive in Chong Koh, a charming silk weaving village where there will be time for you to have a leisurely walk. Aftwerwards, your ship continues to cruise through more of the Mekong's river villages. The next stop is the rural village of Angkor Ban where the houses are all hand-made without any concrete and the local villagers welcome visitors, before heading to Kampong Cham. (B, L, D)

DAY 9: Wat Hanchey.

Arrive in Wat Hanchey, an ancient hill-top temple that pre-dates Angkor Wat and offers one of the best views of Cambodia. Later, stop for a visit of Wat Nokor, built within the ruins of an ancient temple, and on the way back to the ship, visit an orphanage. (B, L, D)

DAY 10: Kampong Chhnang.

This morning, your ship cruises along the Tonle Sap River, which meanders through leafy jungle to Kampong Chhnang, a busy river port and fishing town. Take a motorboat excursion to the wetlands, floating houses and fish farms in the region. Back on board your ship this evening, enjoy a farewell dinner. (B, L, D)

DAY 11: Siem Reap.

After breakfast, disembark your ship and transfer to your hotel in Siem Reap for two nights. (B)

DAY 12: Siem Reap.

Enjoy a full day guided tour of Angkor Wat, which will include a visit to the Rolous Group, Banteay Srei and Landmine Museum as well as lunch in a local restaurant. (B, L)

DAY 13: Siem Reap - Hanoi.

Transfer to the airport for your flight to Hanoi. On arrival, you will be taken to your hotel for two nights. (B)

DAY 14: Hanoi.

Vietnam's capital is often described as old-fashioned in terms of both its style and the atmosphere that it exudes. It is a city of lakes, parks, trees, villas and mansions and has sidewalk cafes and pavement barbers. Make the most of a full day to discover its main sights. (B)

DAY 15: Hanoi - UK.

Transfer to the airport for your overnight flight to the UK. (B)

DAY 16: Home landing in the UK.
