Luxor

Luxor is perhaps the greatest open-air museum in the world and has been a tourist destination since the beginning of tourism. Luxor is a city of around 150,000 people and is made up of three main areas, City of Luxor on the East side of the Nile, Thebes on the west side of the Nile across from Luxor and the town of Karnak just north of Luxor.

A must see attraction in Luxor is the Temple of Luxor built by Amenophis III. It was connected to the Karnak Temple via a long stone processional street called a dromos, originally lined on either side by sphinxes and built by Nectanebo I.
