Discover South Africa + Victoria Falls
19 DAYS FROM £2195
My own travel experience has been extensive from my working days but also using Archers for Spain/Malaysia/Singapore, and Hawaii/San Francisco with my wife and just myself in 2005 to South America and March 2006 to New Zealand and Fiji.
However, even with so much travel experience I am never ceased to be amazed by the awesome beauty of the world plus the wonderful people who live in it and our recent holiday was no exception. What better way to start the holiday than the romantic sunset cruise on the Zambezi river from the riverboat African Queen and the following day at the Victoria Falls. The holiday also took in the staggering scenery of the Blyde River Canyon on route to the Kruger National Park where our game drives were both exciting with plenty of "Big Five" gamed spotted.
We travelled down to Cape Town through unforgettable locations and scenery. I believe we travelled some 4000km on our journey but the most exciting was 50 meters on the back of an ostrich at Oudtshoorn!
And then finally Cape Town with awesome Table Mountain and wonderful harbour side restaurants. A trip to Cape of Good Hope and Cape Point brought a change from lion, hippo, rhino, elephant, leopard, giraffe etc to whale, seal and penguins.
The term "how do you follow that" comes to mind; but we did by me becoming officially engaged to a wonderful lady on our last day in Cape Town (OK I'm tight, diamonds are cheaper there!)
My wonderful lady has just booked another Archers break to Madeira for my 60th birthday in May and we will be off somewhere else later this year. Can't wait!
We would just like to say how much we enjoyed our holiday and the personal attention we received.
Victoria Falls (Zambia), the mighty Smoke that Thunders, is one of the most spectacular natural wonders of the world! The greatest mass of falling water on earth as it plunges down a sheer rock face, spraying cascades of silver mist rising up into the heavens. This is by far one of the most spectacular destinations in all Africa, let us take you there! After a memorable stay join our Discover South Africa Tour - With a wonderful blend of race and cultures, climate and topography, South Africa offers incredible wildlife, traditional hospitality, sophisticated cities, unforgettable scenery and a sunny climate.
