DAY 1: UK - Paris.
Travel by Eurostar to Paris where you will be met by our representative and transferred to your hotel for an overnight stay.

DAY 2: Paris - Rouen - Honfleur - Deauville - Caen.
Drive through the fine old city of Rouen to see its magnificent cathedral. Next, visit the charming little seaport of Honfleur before continuing up the coast to the seaside resort of Deauville. Overnight in Caen. (B, D)

DAY 3: Caen - Normandy Landing Beaches - Mont St Michel.
Time to see Caen before a visit to the legendary Landing Beaches where the Allied troops came ashore more than 60 years ago. Next journey to Bayeux, home of the famous medieval tapestry (entrance fee extra). Later, head southwards to the uniquely beautiful Mont St Michel, which stands on an island reached only by a causeway, for an overnight stay. (B)

DAY 4: Mont St Michel - Angers - Tours.
Begin today with a visit to Mont St Michel, before journeying amidst the rolling vineyards of Anjou to the riverside town of Angers for a visit to the cathedral. Later, head along the banks of the Loire to the historic city of Tours for a two-night stay. (B)

DAY 5: Châteaux country. At leisure.
Time at leisure or join the optional excursion to see some of the most spectacular castles of the Loire, steeped in the history of noblemen and kings since the 11th-century. Gothic spires, medieval turrets, great fortresses and beautiful châteaux make for splendid panoramas. (B, D)

DAY 6: Tours - Poitiers - La Rochelle - Bordeaux.
This morning drive as far as Poitiers. Next stop is the picturesque town of La Rochelle, situated on the Atlantic Coast. Continue westwards into the world famous Cognac region to visit the museum in Cognac. Journey on to Bordeaux for overnight. (B, D)

DAY 7: Bordeaux - Rocamadour - Toulouse.
Time for an orientation tour in Bordeaux before driving into the heart of one of France's most scenic regions, the Dordogne. Stop in the dramatically located medieval small town of Rocamadour perched high upon a cliff. Southwards by way of Cahors to Toulouse for overnight. (B)

DAY 8: Toulouse - Carcassonne - Nîmes - Avignon.
Drive this morning to Carcassonne for an orientation drive. Carcassonne is the best example of a medieval fortified town, preserved intact as it was more than 1,000 years ago. Then continue westwards to Nîmes and view the Maison Carrée, one of the best preserved Roman temples in the whole of France. Overnight in nearby Avignon. (B, D)

DAY 9: Avignon - Arles - Aix-en-Provence - French Riviera.
South this morning to visit the Roman amphitheatre in Arles. Stop in Aix-en-Provence to see its main street the 'Cours Mirabeau' lined with plane trees and its 17th-century palace, houses and fountains. Finally to the French Riviera for two nights. (B)

DAY 10: French Riviera. At leisure.
Take the opportunity today to enjoy all the amenities of the French Riviera, rightly known as one of Europe's loveliest regions. (B)

DAY 11: French Riviera - Grasse - Route Napoleon - Lyon.
First to Grasse for a visit to a perfume workshop. See more of Provence and follow one of France's great panoramic routes, the one Napoleon took on his return from Elba in 1815. From Grenoble travel to Lyon, the third largest city of France, for overnight. (B, D)

DAY 12: Lyon - Beaune - Paris.
Travel through the vineyards and fields of Burgundy to medieval Beaune where we will visit one of the famous Bourgogne wine cellars and taste some of its production, before continuing. In the afternoon continue to Paris for two nights. (B)

DAY 13: Paris. Included sightseeing.
Sightseeing with local guide in Paris starts with an inside visit of the Notre Dame cathedral, then many of the best-known Parisian sights; the Eiffel Tower, L'Opéra, Champs Elysées and the Rue de Rivoli. (B)

DAY 14: Paris - UK.
Join your Eurostar service back to the UK. (B)
