Holiday Itinerary

DAY 1: UK - Nice/Milan.
Fly to Nice or Milan where you will be transferred to your cruise ship, Costa Serena, in Savona. (D)

DAY 2: Barcelona, Spain.
With its cultural treasures and mild climate, Barcelona is one of Spain's most vibrant cities. There is much to see and do here, from strolling along the famous Las Ramblas shopping area and the intriguing streets and cathedral of the Gothic Quarter, to gazing at Gaudi's awesome Sagrada Familia cathedral, Casa Mila and Casa Batlio. A drive around Montjuic Hill is another must for its amazing city views. (B, L, D)

DAY 3: At sea.
At day at sea enjoying all the excellent facilites on board. Why not take a swim or relax on deck with new friends? (B, L, D)

DAY 4: Casablanca, Morocco.
Fashioned by French and Moorish influences, Casablanca retains all the character of a Moroccan city. One highlight is the splendid Hassan II Mosque, or why not take an optional excursion to enchanting Marrakech or the capital, Rabat with its ancient Medina? (B, L, D)

DAY 5: At sea.
Relax on board Costa Serena as we cruise towards Lanzarote. You'll be able to take full advantage of the on board entertainment programme, have a swim or just lie on deck and soak up the sun. (B, L, D)

DAY 6: Arrecife, Lanzarote.
This morning we arrive at Arrecife, Lanzarote's capital, to experience this delightful port with its old harbour. An optional sightseeing tour takes in the north of the island, passing through amazing volcanic landscapes and stopping at the Mirador del Rio viewpoint for its electrifying vistas as well as the extinct Mount Corona volcano. Or enjoy an optional excursion to the southern region, with visits to the stunning, lunar-style Timanfaya National Park and Fire Mountain volcano and the surrounding vineyards and geysers. (B, L, D)

DAY 7: Santa Cruz, Tenerife.
After arriving at Tenerife's capital, you will have a full day to explore this spectacular island starting with an optional excursion to atmospheric La Laguna, home to the Canaries' only university. From here, we visit Mount Teide, Tenerife's soaring central volcano set amid incredible lava scenery and mountains. (B, L, D)

DAY 8: Funchal, Madeira.
Known as the 'floating garden', Madeira's mild climate and volcanic origins make it a stunning natural treasure. From its charming capital, Funchal, with its quaint streets to the lush sub-tropical forests and waterfalls of its interior, its a delight from start to finish, and famous for its irresistible Madeira wine. DAY 9: At sea.
Spend the day relaxing as we cruise towards historic Malaga. (B, L, D)

DAY 10: Malaga, Spain.
One of the Mediterranean's most ancient ports, elegant Malaga is bursting with Andalusian character and well-stocked with handsome boulevards, churches, restaurants, shops and historic gems, including the magnificent 14th century Arabic fortress of Gibralfaro. (B, L, D)

DAY 11: At sea.
More time to enjoy everything the Costa Serena has to offer. (B, L, D)

DAY 12: Savona - Nice/Milan - UK.
Arrive at Savona and disembark after breakfast. Transfer to the airport in Nice or Milan for your return flight to the UK. (B)

    Launched in 2007, Costa Serena is the newest addition to the Costa fleet, with a passenger capacity of 3,780 and is a fine example of 'cruising Italian style'. The ship has Italian officers and an international crew, English is the first language on board, the currency used on board is the Euro, with passengers from all over the world.

    Dining
    The cruise includes full board. Dinner in the main restaurants is taken in two sittings, with table sizes ranging from 2 to 8. There are two gala nights per week when the dress code is formal, on other nights it is informal/smart casual. As you would expect all menus have an Italian flavour with a number of international dishes as well. The pasta dishes are particularly good with fresh pasta made on board every day. There are a number of other restaurants on board such as the informal buffet.

    All cabins have individually controlled air-conditioning/heating with twin or double beds; shower and wc; radio; TV; telephone; safe; hairdryer. Your holiday price includes a category 1 inside lower cabin or you may choose to upgrade.

    Tipping
    According to international custom in the hospitality industry, tipping is accepted as a way of recognizing good service. For your convenience Costa has introduced an automatic tipping system, so instead of worrying how much and when to tip, an amount of 6 euros per person per day will be added to your on board account. For your convenience, a service charge of 15% is added to all bar and wine orders.
