Holiday Itinerary

DAY 1: Southampton, UK.
Join your cruise ship, Norwegian Jade, at Southampton. Your cruise is full board from dinner this evening until breakfast on day 15. Your ship departs at 4pm and the last embarkation is at 2pm. (D)

DAY 2-3: At sea.
Time to relax aboard the beautiful Norwegian Jade as you cruise towards the Mediterranean. Perhaps lounge on deck enjoying the stunning panoramas or enjoy some of the many facilities and activities offered on board. (B, L, D)

DAY 4: Malaga.
Malaga is a slice of quintessential Andalucia on the sun-drenched Costa del Sol and was the birthplace of artist Pablo Picasso. Occupied by the Moors in the 15th century and one of the main ports of the Moorish kingdom of Granada, it combines handsome plazas, attractive avenues and a charming shopping centre with atmospheric streets, inviting pavement cafes and authentic tapas bars. Explore the town at your leisure today, perhaps visiting the magnificent 16th century cathedral and imperious 11th century La Alcazaba fortress, which perches on a hillside and houses a fascinating archeological museum. Alternatively, take an optional tour of the 'Casa Natal', where Picasso was born, before strolling to the famous Museo de Bellas Artes, home to some of his best-known masterworks. (B, L, D)

DAY 5-6: Barcelona.
Buzzing, cosmopolitan Barcelona is one of the jewels of the Mediterranean and overflows with culture, life and colour. Amble along the famous pedestrianised shopping thoroughfare of Las Ramblas stopping at its charming street cafes, restaurants and shops, and check out the ornately decorated houses designed by Gaudi, the city's much-lauded architect. The star attraction is undoubtedly Gaudi's astonishing La Sagrada Familia, the soaring, fairytale cathedral that was left unfinished on his death and which is still being gradually built. (B, L, D)

DAY 7: Villefranche for Nice.
Today your ship docks in Villefranche on the French Riviera, giving you a chance to experience this super-glamorous stretch of coast on an optional excursion. Enjoy the captivating views as you drive towards the charming village of La Turbie, pass through glittering Monaco and take in the sights at the beautiful clifftop town of Eze before touring cosmopolitan Nice, with its stylish boutiques and glitzy, palm-lined waterfront. (B, L, D)

DAY 8: Livorno for Florence and Pisa.
Livorno is the gateway to the magnificent Tuscan cities of Florence and Pisa. Enjoy an optional excursion driving through gentle Tuscan landscapes to Pisa, where you'll enjoy a photo-stop at stunning Miracle Square to admire the amazing Leaning Tower and the city's graceful cathedral. From there, your excursion continues to Florence, the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance. A living, open-air museum of jaw-dropping architecture, beautiful squares and stately fountains, this astonishing city's highpoints include the marvellous Piazza del Duomo and dreamlike Ponte Vecchio bridge. (B, L, D)

DAY 9: Civitavecchia for Rome.
Today don't miss an optional excursion to witness the glory that is Rome. Italy's capital overflows with Roman, Renaissance and Baroque treasures, making it a sightseer's dream. Witness the vast and glorious St Peter's Square, the majestic St Peter's Basilica and splendid Clemente's Basilica before enjoying a guided tour of the mighty Colosseum, where gladiators once fought for their lives, cheered on by 50,000 baying spectators. (B, L, D)

DAY 10: At sea.
A full day to relax on your ship, reliving memories of your adventure so far and lazing on deck as Norwegian Jade cruises towards Gibraltar. (B, L, D)

DAY 11: Gibraltar.
Famed for its soaring Rock, this British, self-governing colony stands at the tip of the Iberian peninsula where Europe meets North Africa. A charismatic blend of British and Spanish architecture, atmosphere and culture, it's full of surprises and familiar pleasures. Enjoy an optional excursion to the Rock to experience the mesmerising vistas before visiting the upper Rock to meet its legendary resident Barbary Apes - the only place in Europe where they can live freely. (B, L, D)

DAY 12: Lisbon.
Built over seven hills, the vibrant Portuguese capital bursts with character and history and is a chequerboard of different districts, each with its own distinct personality and charm. Discover the colourful 18th century squares of the Arabic Alfama quarter with its ancient castle and gaze at the beautiful Jeronimus Monastery and Belem Tower standing sentinel over the harbour. This evening, why not savour Lisbon's rich and energetic nightlife, perhaps relaxing at one of the many cafes in its cobbled Bairro Alto district, sampling local culinary delights or listening to the plaintive sounds of Fado at an intimate bar.
(B, L, D)

DAY 13: Vigo.
Immerse yourself in the charms of this Spanish Atlantic port, famed for its delicious seafood, picturesque streets and beautiful parks. Amble around Porta del Sol, its pretty centre dominated by the surreal Sireno statue and roam the old quarter of Casco Vello, where a maze of quaint alleyways bulging with enchanting craft and curio shops is the perfect hunting ground for souvenirs of your trip.
(B, L, D)

DAY 14: At sea.
Relax on your last full day on board, taking in the views from deck or enjoying the many facilities the ship offers. (B, L, D)

DAY 15: Southampton, UK.
Arrive in Southampton and disembark after breakfast. (B)

Note: On the 09th August sailing Gibraltar is replaced with a day at sea.
