Holiday Itinerary

DAY 1: UK - Barcelona.
Fly to Barcelona where you will be met by our representative and transferred to your cruise ship, Norwegian Jade. Your cruise will be full board from dinner this evening until breakfast on day 10. (D)

DAY 2: At sea.
Sit back on deck enjoying the views, take a cooling dip in the pool and make the most of the many comforts and facilities your cruise ship has to offer as you sail southwards. (B, L, D)

DAY 3: Casablanca.
Look forward to a highlight of your cruise today - the chance to savour the rich culture and sizzling colours and charms of Morocco. With a captivating Moorish and French heritage, Morocco's commercial capital of Casablanca is a melting pot of old and new, boasting wide boulevards, historic Arab architecture and a fast-paced, vibrant atmosphere. Today, enjoy an optional tour of the Hassan II Mosque, a striking feature of the city's skyline or travel overnight to enigmatic Marrakech on an optional excursion to this red-walled desert city with its labyrinthine alleyways, vast market square and ornate mansions. (B, L, D)

DAY 4: Agadir.
Studded with peaceful gardens, white Moorish-style buildings and colourful tourist bazaars, modern Agadir was rebuilt after a devastating earthquake in 1960 and is an important fishing port renowned for its seafood and mild winter climate. Today brings a choice of exciting optional excursions to sample the sights and sounds of traditional Morocco - either on a visit to an exuberant horse show featuring Andalucian music and belly dancing or to the Kasbah, the ancient hilltop walls of the old city - a dramatic reminder of the town before the earthquake struck. (B, L, D)

DAY 5: Las Palmas.
Discovered by Christopher Columbus in 1492, the island of Gran Canaria boasts a bustling and historic capital - Las Palmas. Beguiling and beautiful, this lovely city brims with colonial Spanish influences and centres around an old quarter threaded with atmospheric cobbled streets, wooden balconied houses and pretty, tree-filled squares. Today take the opportunity to marvel at the island's breathtaking interior with a visit to the spectacular crater of Bandama, an extinct volcano perched 2,000 feet above sea level, on an optional excursion. Alternatively, choose an optional trip to the fabulous Maspalomas Dunes, a protected area of outstanding natural beauty where billowing orange dunes spread along a golden beach. Only accessible by foot or camel, these wonderful miniature desert mountains play host to a variety of rare plants and mammals. (B, L, D)

DAY 6: Funchal.
Steeped in history and decked in riotously coloured flowers that give it its nickname of the 'Garden Isle', the Portuguese volcanic island of Madeira basks in year-round sunshine and offers natural spectacles at almost every turn. Highlights include its fairytale capital, Funchal, where quaint cobbled lanes and flower markets tumble down to a glorious natural harbour. Beyond lies a lush interior of towering peaks and fertile valleys cloaked in thick forests and waterfalls and famed for the production of sweet Madeira wine. (B, L, D)

DAY 7: At sea.
Enjoy a day relaxing on board as your ship cruises towards historic Malaga on Spain's southern coast. Sunbathe on deck, enjoy the full entertainment programme, take a swim or chat with new friends over drinks in the ship's comfortable lounges. (B, L, D)

DAY 8: Malaga.
One of the Mediterranean's oldest and most elegant ports, Malaga overflows with animated Andalucian atmosphere and has a historic quarter dating back 800 years. Crowned with the remains of a mighty Moorish fortress, the Gibralfaro castle, and its splendid 11th century Alcazabar, this handsome city offers tree-lined boulevards, chic shopping avenues, charming tapas bars and numerous impressive sights, including a fine cathedral, leafy botanical gardens and a superb Museum of Fine Arts, filled with works by Pablo Picasso, its most famous son. (B, L, D)

DAY 9: At sea.
As Norwegian Jade, cruises towards Barcelona, enjoy another day luxuriating in the many on board facilities. (B, L, D)
