Holiday Itinerary
DAY 1: UK - Paris.
Take the Eurostar to Paris where you will be met by our representative and transferred to your ship. After a welcome cocktail party, enjoy your first dinner on board as you cruise past the French capital's most iconic sights, including the Eiffel Tower, Louvre and spectacular Notre-Dame Cathedral, all glamorously illuminated against the night sky. (D)
DAY 2: Paris - Les Andelys - Rouen.
Wake to a delightful morning's cruising as your ship glides along the Seine through picturesque towns and locks, passing through the charming provincial town of Vernon en-route. After an afternoon arrival in Les Andelys, with its 12th century castle built by Richard the Lionheart, join an optional excursion to the magical Chateau of Vascoeuil, where there's time to explore its ornate interiors and beautiful gardens decorated with artworks and sculptures by Dali and other artists. Rejoin your ship, now docked in Rouen, the capital of Normandy and the site of Joan of Arc's martyrdom in 1431. Why not finish the day with an optional guided walking tour of this atmospheric old city, admiring its half-timbered houses, fine cathedral and haunting Place du Marché where the Saint was burnt at the stake? (B, L, D)
DAY 3: Honfleur.
Arrive in the Channel port of Honfleur, known as the gateway to the Pays d'Auge and 'Côte Fleurie' or 'Flowered Coast'. This charming harbour town has hardly changed since the 17th century and an optional walking tour traces its many delights, through its old streets lined with slate-roofed houses and salt attics and visiting St Catherine's church, which was built between the 15th-16th centuries entirely from wood. The scenic delights continue on an optional excursion along the 'Côte Fleurie', passing through the elegant towns of Trouville and Deauville and stopping at a Calvados distillery housed in enchanting Breuil Castle. (B, L, D)
DAY 4: Cruising.
Spend the day cruising back towards Paris, passing picturesque landscapes and magical towns such as Conflans St Honorine, known as the 'Boatmen's Capital'. (B, L, D)
DAY 5: Paris - UK.
Disembark after breakfast and transfer to the station in Paris for your return Eurostar journey to the UK. (B)
