Holiday Itinerary

DAY 1: UK - Naples.
Fly to Naples where you will be met by our representative and transferred to your chosen hotel in Sorrento or Ischia. (D)

DAY 2-3: Sorrento or Ischia.
You have two full days to explore Sorrento or Ischia. Explore Sorrento which is situated high above the Bay of Naples, with Mount Vesuvius as a backdrop. A warm, friendly resort, it is famed for its beauty, charm and breathtaking views. Ischia is known for its hot mineral springs and thermal waters. The coastline is rugged with long, winding beaches and spectacular views across the Bay of Naples. (B, D)

DAY 4: Neapolitan Riviera - Naples - at sea.
We head for Naples for an early evening sailing on your cruise ship, Costa Magica. (B, D)

DAY 5: Palermo.
Originally a Carthaginian stronghold in the 5th Century BC, the Sicilian capital is set in a valley called the 'Golden Shell' and combines a modern bustling metropolis with a traditional old quarter. It has a good selection of fine architecture and some of Italy's best museums. With an early morning arrival, the rest of the day is yours to explore the sights, before we set sail again in the early evening for Tunis. (B, L, D)

DAY 6: Tunis.
With both a contemporary city, its main street modelled on Paris' Champs Elysees, and an ancient medina, packed with colourful exotic souks, Tunis is a wonderful melting pot of European and Arab cultures. The morning is yours to explore the city. Don't miss the amazing Zitouna Mosque, rebuilt in the 9th Century with 200 columns recycled from the ruins of nearby Carthage. (B, L, D)

DAY 7: At sea - Palma.
Relax on your cruise ship as we cruise towards the popular holiday island of Mallorca. You'll be able to take full advantage of the on board entertainment programme, have a swim or just lie on deck and soak up the sun. We arrive in the early afternoon in the Mallorcan capital, Palma, giving you plenty of time for sightseeing. Attractions include the impressive Gothic cathedral, the 14th Century Bellver Castle, the Convent of St. Francis and the Carthusian Monastery of Valldemosa. (B, L, D)

DAY 8: Palma - Barcelona.
The capital of Spain's colourful Catalonia region is a charming, cosmopolitan city well stocked with museums and art galleries. It also has a typically Spanish vibrancy, emanating from locations like Las Ramblas, a pedestrian street with dozens of pavement cafes. You will have a full day to shop, relax or take in the sights. (B, L, D)

DAY 9: Marseilles.
The southern French city of Marseilles has been a major Mediterranean harbour for more than 2,500 years. Leading off the harbour is the city's most famous street, La Canebiere, a broad bustling boulevard, shaded by rows of plane trees. Arriving at breakfast time, the rest of the day is yours to explore this historic port. (B, L, D)

DAY 10: Savona.
Known as the City of Popes after a local man, Francesco Della Rovere, became Pope Sixtus IV in 1471. There are many churches and museums to visit, including the Cathedral and its attached Cappella Sistina. Overlooking the old town is the huge 16th century Priamàr fortress which currently houses four museums. After the fall of Savona to the Genoese in 1528, the fortress was constructed on the site of the old cathedral as a symbol of Genoese superiority. (B, L, D)

DAY 11: Naples - Sorrento or Ischia.
You'll disembark at Naples after breakfast and travel by coach to your chosen hotel in Sorrento or by boat/jetfoil to Ischia for the next four nights. (B, D)

DAY 12-14: Sorrento or Ischia.
A range of optional excursions will be available to help you make the most of your stay on the Neapolitan Riviera. (B, D)

DAY 15: Naples - UK.
Transfer to Naples airport for your flight to the UK. (B)

Note: Guests will have to vacate their hotel room for the duration of the cruise.
