As we were two rather senior ladies on our own, we were quite apprehensive, as we had never travelled with Archers before.
We had no need to worry as, from beginning to end of the holidays, we had a great service. We stayed at a wonderful hotel in Fuigi, which was just outside Rome. The hotel was really spacious and comfortable with superb food. Each day we were taken to places of interest, including two amazing visits to Rome. The guides were fantastic and showed us everything of importance historically with a detailed account of everything. I would like to thank our smashing courier who obviously was very proud of his country and was extremely knowledgeable.
Thank you again Archers. Since I have come back, my husband and I have booked with you to visit New York and Las Vegas in November and cannot wait to go. You can rest assured that I will be recommending you to all our friends.

I was living in England for a 6 month period and booked an 8 day "Roman Leisurely Holiday" in October 2004, the last of the year. I had never been to Italy before but fell in love with Italy straight away. I was travelling on my own so was a little nervous about whether I would feel "out of it" with all the married couples that I initially met up with. I'm pleased to say that there was also some other ladies travelling, either with another girlfriend, or on their own so we quickly made friends. Also a couple of widowed gentlemen who were on their own. The entire group were great fun and we became one big happy family.
The whole experience, was one of the best holidays I have ever been on. The tour guides, hotel, extra activities and visits to Rome both day and at night will be something that will live with me forever….
I am coming for a holiday to the UK in April - to visit my parents - but will definitely book a holiday for myself "as a single" and I am confident I will have just as great a time as I did in 2004. I still keep in touch with the lovely friends I made.

Then, after a few weeks rest, we did the Grand tour of Turkey in October, which was the experience of a lifetime, with a wonderful tour guide, Bourcu and a terrific driver, Baki.
The highlight of my week was the evening excursion we joined in Rome, with Roberto as our guide. A beautiful warm September evening, Genaro our driver dropped us near the Spanish Steps and we walked with Roberto to the top of the steps "You not only want to see Rome, you need to experience it……….." which we certainly did.
The rest of our tour was equally as good as our night in Rome, made more interesting by our knowledgeable guide, comfortable hotels and wonderful food.

Holiday Itinerary
DAY 1: UK - Naples - Fiuggi.
Fly to Naples where you will be met by our representative and transferred to your hotel for a seven night stay.
DAY 2: Subiaco & Tivoli.
Our included full day excursion takes you to Subiaco, a picturesque town famous for its Benedictine monasteries, and then to Tivoli, where Cardinal Ippolito d'Este had a splendid villa with lovely landscaped gardens. (B, D)
DAY 3: Pompeii & Montecassino Abbey.
Our second included full day excursion takes you first to the amazing petrified city of Pompeii, buried by an eruption from Vesuvius in 79AD. Your included sightseeing tour, with local guide, gives an amazing insight into life in ancient Roman times. Then it's on to the towering peak of Montecassino, topped with an impressive Benedictine abbey. (B, D)
DAY 4: Anagni.
Relax in the morning, before we head for Anagni, the birthplace of four former popes, with a magnificent cathedral and a medieval quarter full of perfectly preserved buildings. (B, D)
DAY 5: Rome. Included sightseeing.
A full day in Rome. Our included sightseeing tour of the 'Eternal City' starts in St Peter's Square, followed by a visit to the Roman Forum and the mighty Colosseum. (B, D)
DAY 6: Fiuggi.
The day is yours to relax or you may choose to explore this picturesque and historical town at your own leisure. In the evening, why not join us for our optional 'Rome by Night' trip? (B, D)
DAY 7: Roman Castles & Frascati.
After a morning at leisure, our included half-day excursion with dinner takes you on a scenic drive into the Alban Hills to visit the ancient fortified towns, or 'Castelli Romani', and the lovely wine-making region of Frascati. (B, D)
DAY 8: Fiuggi - Naples - UK.

We have chosen the attractive town of Fiuggi as the base for your 8 day Roman Discovery leisurely touring holiday.
