Tunisian Adventure
8 DAYS FROM £639

This holiday has departures available between: 12th Sep 2010 to 27th Nov 2011
780Susan BlandUK I was recently on the Tunisian Adventure Tour and I just thought I would email you to congratulate you on a very well organised trip.

Everything went smoothly - the travelling, the visits, the arrival and departure from the hotels, and mostly the food and accommodation were very good. There were some maintenance problems (particularly with bathrooms) but as we were only staying one night in most places we didn't bother to get them sorted out - just mentioned them to Lesley for future tours.

The smoothness of the tour was mostly due to Lesley, Hassam and Laroussi. Lesley was always around and made everyone feel at home on the tour. She is a very open, friendly person and does her job extremely well; constantly making sure that everyone was alright. Hassam in his quiet, knowledgeable way took us around all the places of interest and we learnt a lot about Tunisia. Laroussi was a good, efficient driver and our journeys were always comfortable. They were a great team and really did there best to look after us - it was good having regular coffee stops on long journeys, for example.

So I would just like to thank them all again, on behalf of myself and my two sisters who travelled with me. We really enjoyed the experience and saw so many different things on our journeys and would recommend the tour to anyone else thinking of visiting Tunisia.

780Valerie BlakeSt Albans What an excellent holiday this was from start to finish. Both Lesley, our tour rep, and Mohammed our tour guide were helpful and informative. We visited many mosques, medinas and archaeological sites and stayed at 4* and 5* hotels each night. We loved the vibrancy of Tunisia and found the people friendly and helpful.

The tour was action-packed with several visits each day to different interesting places. The camel ride in the Sahara Desert was one of the highlights for me, also the ride on the Red Lizard train and the folklore evening with dinner in a Bedouin tent. The contrast of the desert in the south and the affluence of Tunis, the capital, was apparent.

We had booked a 2nd week at the excellent Sinbad Hotel in Hammamet to relax and enjoy the area and were pleased we had chosen such a friendly hotel.

All in all, I would thoroughly recommend this holiday to anyone.

780Enid & Eric HancockUK This is an exceptional Tour. Our Guide was experienced, well informed and showed a great love of his country and cared well for our group.

The Mosque at Sousse was impressive and the Heritage site with the 3rd Century Roman Colosseum originally seating 30,000 people awe inspiring. Sfax Tunisia's 2nd largest city was interesting - a stronghold of former Barbary Pirates. We enjoyed the bustling spice market at Gabes and purchased some spices.

The amazing underground Troglodyte Village at Matmata inhabited until the 1960's was unbelievable. Also the stone houses and streets lined with high walls at Tamezret. The Camel ride at Douz the desert outpost was fun for the young at heart.

We crossed the salt lake at Chott El Jerid to Tozeur, an important oasis on the Ancient Caravan route between Algeria and Tunisia. The jeep ride to the mountain oasis of Chebika and the folklore show with dinner was great. The Red Lizard, the Old Bey's trail and going through the Gorges of Selja were quite an experience.

Going on then to Sebeitla to see the Roman ruins and then Dougga the most extensive site in Tunisia set against the backdrop of the Atlas Mountains was so impressive.

The culmination and perfect climax of our tour was the ancient ruins of the City of Carthage and the very last walls at the traditional village of Sidi-Bou-Said and the Famous Bardo Museum full of glorious Roman Mosaics which are unbelievable. In all, this was a fantastic tour.

We extended our holiday at Hammamet staying at the Sofitel Saphir Palace Yasmine hotel, pure luxury. The food was superb, excellent service in the restaurant and our room. A most memorable holiday.
