Wonders of Ancient Greece
10 DAYS FROM £679

This holiday has departures available between: 25th Oct 2008 to 25th Oct 2008
787 Linda Finch UK We have just returned from our 6th Archers holiday and feel that this was the best of them all.

Each day surpassed the one before, there was so much to see and the days were well planned with visits and travelling interspersed so we didn't feel as though the whole week was spent on a bus! Our tour guide, Marianna, was excellent, and our driver, Leo, was also fantastic. We had a great time, and shared it with a group of lovely people on our coach.

Greece is such a beautiful country with amazing scenery and so much history. We recommend going at early season (April / May) as the flowers and blossom on the trees and beautiful and the weather glorious - just warm enough to sight see comfortably in t-shirt and shorts!

A fantastic holiday not to be missed!

Journey into the Argolis to make a stop in Epidaurus located in the hilly countryside dotted with pine trees and oleanders. In this magnificent setting you'll visit the open-air theatre, which can still seat 14,000 spectators. Head for the coast and overnight in Nauplia. (B, D)

DAY 4: Nauplia - Mycenae - Sparta.
This morning enjoy the included excursion with a local guide to Mycenae, a city fortress accursed of the Gods, rich in the gold of warrior kings. Head south in the afternoon, deep into the Peloponnese, to Sparta for an overnight stay. (B, D)

Shortly after, the visit to the Chora Museum will help you visualise its past splendour and imagine the grandness of this Mycenean palace.
