17 DAYS FROM £2005

This holiday has departures available between: 14th Feb 2009 to 7th Nov 2009
932 Mrs Le Geyt Surrey I write to tell you how much my partner and I enjoyed our recent trip to South Africa. especially our first few days in Kruger National Park. I had dreamed for several years of going on Safari but after my husband died I thought that was it and I'd have to continue going to Safari parks in the UK.

Then 9 months ago, I met a new gentleman who loves travelling like me and he had always wanted to visit South Africa and that we would include a safari.

I will never forget our first trip through Kruger National Park in the afternoon on our way to our hotel by coach to Malale Lodge. This elephant on the grass verge, we stopped right next to him, the photo was taken from the coach hence the white line, he didn't bat an eyelid. The thrill of getting up at 4.30am for an early morning safari made us very excited. The rangers are always in touch and let each other know of sightings, imagine our excitement when our ranger turned round and raced like mad to show us something special and there lying in the road was this lion fast asleep oblivious to all around him. That for me was one of the highlights of the tour.

I found the whole visit very exciting, made all the more interesting by our guides Linda and Chris from Atlas Springbok. The trip down the Garden Route to Cape Town and the breathtaking scenery, the trip up Table Mountain and the visit to the Shanty Towns by a superb guide from Africa Roots who lived through apartheid was very enlightening and I feel I know more about Apartheid and South Africa than before I visited.

By the way my partner is 78years and I am 69 years. We are off on your Trans Canada Explorer tour on the 25 th April, can't wait if its exciting as the last tour.
