Holiday Itinerary
DAY 1: UK - Budapest.
Fly to Budapest and make your own way to your hotel for a three-night stay. Alternatively, a transfer is available at a supplement and should be pre-booked prior to departure.
DAY 2: Budapest. At leisure or optional city sightseeing tour.
One of Europe's most fascinating, culture-packed cities, Budapest is split by the legendary Danube, with ancient Buda to the west and Pest, its modern centre to the east. Spend the day at leisure, discovering the sights of this fascinating city - stroll along the Danube, browse for glass and porcelain souvenirs in the Vaci Utci shopping district and relax at one of the countless and congenial outdoor cafes and restaurants. Alternatively, our optional sightseeing tour (this is available at a supplement and should be pre-booked prior to departure) will take you to all the must-see sights, starting with a drive past the Parliament and across the magnificent Margaret Bridge to Buda to see the Royal Castle and Fishermen's Bastion before touring spectacular Matthias Church. After a photo stop at the Citadel, we return to Pest via the Elizabeth Bridge, viewing the splendid Heroes' Square, State Opera House and St Stephen's Basilica. As a taste of the city's most famous attractions, the tour will fill you with exciting ideas for exploring the city on your own. (B)
DAY 3: Budapest. At leisure.
A full day to immerse yourself in Budapest. Why not visit the History Museum, saunter around Buda to admire the picturesque streets or climb atop Gellert Hill to soak up stupendous views of the city and Danube? Kiraly Bath, one of Budapest's many spas, features a soaring 16th-century dome and is well worth your time. (B)
DAY 4: Budapest - UK.
Make your own way back to Budapest airport for your flight to the UK. Alternatively, a transfer is available at a supplement and should be pre-booked prior to departure. (B)
