The Andean Explorer

If you want a great adventure that truly reveals the breathtaking country and culture of Peru, the Andean Explorer train is for you.

This luxurious, fully restored 1920s style train ascends through spectacular mountain scenery, passing Inca ruins, snow-capped peaks and green valleys, on its way from picturesque Cuzco (former capital of the Inca empire) to Puno. The train even passes right through a busy market at Juliaca, filled with colourful piles of Alpaca knits. Visit the open-air observation bar to try a Pisco Sour, a Peruvian speciality. Once the train reaches the Highlands, you will pass herds of alpaca, llamas and sheep before the Andean Explorer reaches its final destination, Puno, located 4,000m high at magnificent Lake Titicaca.
