Ooty Toy Train tours

A ride on the famous Ooty Toy Train is a must if you are visiting the Southern Indian states. Ooty tours on this historic narrow gauge railway, established in 1809, run through the breathtaking Nilgiri Mountains, finally reaching the tranquil hill station of Ooty, a green oasis away from the summer heat.

Gaze through the Ooty Train’s large windows and see a stunning kaleidoscope of visual treats: great viaducts, rocky terrain, hills dotted with pine and eucalyptus, and verdant tea plantations. The Nilgiri Mountains of the Ooty tours are a wildlife paradise, so keep an eye out for the elusive tiger and leopard, as well as the Asian elephant, sloth bear, pangolin, barking deer and flying squirrel.

The Ooty Train itself is picturesque; a steam locomotive with quaint blue and cream wooden carriages.  Take a trip on the Ooty train with our Enchanting Kerala and Southern India holiday: it’s a soul-stirring experience.
