We often have special holidays like seasonal short city breaks to some of the prettiest Christmas cities in Europe for a spot of shopping. Prague is particularly atmospheric in winter months.
Nature provides sightseeing of a different kind with wonders of her own. A trip to New England or Eastern Canada in the Autumn to see the spectacular, firework coloured foliage of the Fall will take your breath away as will the natural northern lightshow of the aurora borealis, best seen from arctic waters.
