Flanking one of the world's greatest natural harbours, Halifax was once Britain's major military outpost in North America. Step back in time along the beautifully restored waterfront, take photos of the wave-pounded lighthouse at Peggy's Cove or discover Halifax's Titanic heritage at the Maritime Museum and Fairlawn Cemetery, where 121 victims of the disaster are buried.
Backed by 1,530-foot Cadillac Mountain, this quaint town was the playground of America’s most illustrious 19th century families, including the Vanderbilts and Rockefellers.
