The holiday was excellent although there was some down time. We spent a lot of time in Basel waiting for departure. This was in part to allow for the excellent trip to the Rhine Falls but I'm sure that could have fitted in more efficiently

Today, perhaps join the optional guided visit of Basel, an ancient medieval town, situated in the heart of Europe, on the Rhine banks. In the afternoon, an optional excursion visits the Rhine Falls, one the most spectacular sites to visit in Switzerland. Later, cruise to Breisach.

Have free time in the city of Breisach this morning. Breisach lies on the Rhine Valley and is renowned for housing one of the largest wine cellars in Europe and also for its historic cathedral. An optional excursion in the afternoon uncovers Colmar and the Unterlinden Museum.

Breisach - Strasbourg

Admire the magnificent wine-producing region as you cruise to Strasbourg today. Strasbourg is a delightful blend of cobbled lanes and half-timbered houses which has changed hands between the French and Germans down the centuries. Discover the European Parliament building, tour the interior of the stunning Gothic cathedral and visit the La Petite France old quarter, where 500-year-old houses cluster around miniature canals. An optional guided tour will show you the very best of this beautiful city.

Mainz - Koblenz

Arrive in Mainz today and perhaps join the optional guided tour of the city and a visit the Gutenberg Museum (closed on Mondays). Mainz was founded more than 2,000 years ago by the Romans and is currently the capital of the Rhineland-Palatinate. Later, cruise to Koblenz. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2002, the legendary and romantic Rhine River is bestowed with truly magnificent landscapes. We’ll pass the legendary Lorelei rock, named after a beautiful young maiden who, according to German legend, threw herself into the river in despair over a faithless lover and was transformed into a siren. We arrive into Koblenz in the evening.

Today, we continue our cruise up the magnificent Rhine Valley. The Rhine River follows a remarkable route, meandering between sheer rocks, small islands and fortified castles sitting high above the vineyards. This afternoon, perhaps join an optional guided tour of Cologne. At the crossroads of Europe since the Middle Ages, Cologne has kept its importance as a vibrant commercial and industrial city, as well as a cultural and religious centre. You have some free time on your own before we return by coach to Düsseldorf. Tonight, there will be a Gala evening on-board.

Today, there will be an optional guided tour of the Dutch Open Air Museum of Arnhem. Return to the ship in Xanten and cruise to Amsterdam during the afternoon. We’ll cross the border into Germany near Emmerich, glide past Arhem, and enter Holland.

Today, perhaps join the optional guided visit of Amsterdam. The Dutch capital is a truly delightful city with a rich and fascinating past. A final evening of dancing and entertainment on-board awaits.

Age Restriction

Reservations from minors shall not be accepted by the travel agency but must be made by the parents or other adults of more than 18 years of age with the necessary authorisations. Minors of under 18 years of age are not permitted to travel on board unaccompanied. They must be accompanied by parents or adults of more than 18 years of age. No alcoholic beverages shall be served to minors on board. Proof of the customer’s age may be requested by the ship’s personnel. 

Disabled Facilities

All passengers are required to be medically, physically and/or mentally fit to undertake a trip without endangering their life or the life of others. No medical services are offered aboard the ships. Any passenger with a physical or mental incapacity, limited capacity of mobility, having an illness requiring treatment or medical care, or pregnant women should inform the travel agent at the time of booking. No reservations can be accepted for passengers whose physical or mental condition is likely to render their participation in the cruise or in the vacation impossible or dangerous for themselves or others, or who require forms of care or assistance impossible to guarantee aboard ship, notably because of unsuitable infrastructure. Some suppliers (hoteliers, airlines and cruise companies, etc) may require a medical certificate confirming that the passenger is fit to travel or they may refuse to accept the booking if they feel that they will be unable to guarantee any assistance or treatment deemed necessary for the health and well-being of the passenger. Participation in the voyage and in excursions is subject to the condition of the passenger having sufficient mobility. Dress Code

Casual and comfortable during the day. More elegant clothing may be worn in the evening. It is recommended that the wearing of footwear suitable for life aboard and for excursions with non-slip soles.

For the safety and comfort of all passengers, most ships do still allow smoking on board, but you will find this is restricted to designated areas around the ship.
