Furnas is situated in a wonderful valley that rests upon a crater of an extinct volcano where flowers and intense green vegetation grow. Our first stop is at Gorreana Tea Factory, to visit this living museum where, today, machines of the XIX century still function and produce the world-wide known Gorreana Tea. Before descending towards Furnas and its lovely block of white houses enjoy one of the most beautiful views of the Azores at Pico do Ferro Belvedere. Stop at Furnas Village for lunch (included). Today you'll taste one of the most typical dishes of this region - the famous "Cozido das Furnas", made of different sorts of meat, sausage and vegetables. After lunch visit to Terra Nostra Park - a paradisiacal garden with lakes, bridges and luxuriant vegetation - a visit your heart will never forget (entrances included). Continuing the tour, we go up through the south coast to Pico da Barrosa. Stop at Lagoa do Fogo Belvedere - it offers you a magnificent view over this lake. It seems time has stopped. One feels very small before this beautiful big blue lake…one of the finest jewels of nature. Going down to the north coast, stop at Caldeira Velha (optional visit - depending on time - entrances not included, around € 2,50). A magnificent and romantic place, with a natural hot water pool, inside luxuriant vegetation.

After we pass through the City Gates, our first visit will be to the Church of São Sebastião - built in the XVI century with elements of Gothic and Manuelino styles. In the XVIII century, alterations were made in the facade according to the dominant style of the time, the Baroque. Passing on the main narrow streets of Ponta Delgada, where you can explore the locals and take the chance to acquire some wonderful gifts. The visit continue to the local market, where you can buy flowers, fresh fruit and vegetables, meat, fresh fish, animals, cheese, local handicraft etc. It's a very typical place. A visit to the local museum it's also include. Afternoon at leisure.
Breakfast at the hotel. We invite you to visit this legendary scenery. It will remind you of stories with princes and princesses already forgotten in the lake's depth. Our first stop is at Vista do Rei Belvedere, so-called because it is where King Carlos and Queen Amélia could appreciate Sete Cidades Lake when they visited S. Miguel in 1901. The tour continues going down to the Sete Cidades village and then to the northwestern route. Crossing the Island's central mountain range, passing through Bretanha - an old village established by French fishermen. In the outskirts of Ponta Delgada we will visit Pineapple Plantations (FREE ENTRANCES) where all phases of its growth will be explained to you. Besides, you can taste its delicious liquor.
