Discover some of nature's wonders of the world on this tour starting in the deserts of Arizona and finishing in the bright lights of Las Vegas.
Fly to Phoenix where on arrival transfer to the desert town of Scottsdale. This evening join your travelling companions and Tour Director for a welcome drink.
Depart Scottsdale and travel north through cactus studded scenery. There will be a stop in Sedona before setting out on one of America's most beautiful drives through Oak Creek Canyon, home to brilliantly hued cliffs and rugged spires of sandstone. This afternoon arrive at Grand Canyon National Park, one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. This evening don't miss the spectacular sunset.
Today, set out to explore the Grand Canyon and learn about it's geology and how the canyon was carved. Take Scenic Hermit Road, with stops along the way revealing the extraordinary views of the deep inner gorge and numerous red buttes and ravines. The rest of the day is at leisure.
The sunrise is just as impressive so make sure not to miss it. There will be time to join an optional flightseeing over the Grand Canyon. Afterwards, continue to Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park, where the weathering action of wind and water has carved the famous sandstone spires and towers that rise hundreds of feet above the valley floor. Enjoy a 4-wheel drive tour of Monument Valley with knowledgeable Navajo guide who shares their culture and how it is influenced by the area. Explore the area's oddly shaped red sandstone monoliths, buttes and mesas. End the day in Lake Powell with time at leisure.
This morning, explore Antelope Slot Canyon with a local Navajo guise. Be mesmerised by an amazing fantasy world of stone, created by wind and water. Learn the history of this amazing canyon. Later, enjoy time on Lake Powell, where sparkling blue water laps against towering red-rock canyon walls and sandy beaches. The majestic beauty of this vast man-made lake can be appreciated on this afternoon's cruise. See gigantic Glen Canyon Dam and the tapestry walls of Antelope Canyon. There will be free time later so perhaps stroll along Waheap Marina on the shores of the Lake.
This morning head for Utah's Bryce Canyon National Park. Drive through the park, with photo stops to capture the magnificent contrasts of bright red, yellow and pink pillars called 'hoodoos'. Years of erosion have carved colourful sandstone into thousands of spires, arches and mazes for an unforgettable sight.
This morning, see nearby Zion National Park, a spectacle of massive stone formations whose colours change with the light of the day and season. To the Mormon pioneers, it was a haven of beauty resembling natural temples and cathedrals and they called it 'Little Zion'. Continue to Las Vegas where this evening the Tour Director hosts a farewell dinner.
Transfer to the airport for your flight to the UK.
