Flying into Pisa, you’ll board the transfer to your hotel in Montecatini, where a special welcome dinner will be served.
You'll make your way to Vinci to visit the museum dedicated to the works of the town's famous son, Leonardo Da Vinci. Find out the secrets of bread making at a local bakery in the Chianti Montalbano area, where you will enjoy a light lunch made of fresh bread accompanied by local cheese, cold cuts and a glass of wine.
Find out more about the “Florentine”steak and the “finocchiona” salami, with a visit to a traditional Italian butcher's shop in Greve. A lunch of cold cuts is served in the local wine shop. After lunch, visit one of the old Tuscan farmhouses known for its Chianti production, before returning to Montecatini for the evening.
In preparation for your authentic Italian cooking lesson in a rustic farmhouse in the Tuscan countryside, you'll start the day sourcing fresh ingredients on a guided visit to the local Montecatini market. Explore the farm and orchard after settling in with a welcome drink, then spend the afternoon learning hands-on about Italy's delicacies. You'll enjoy the dinner you have prepared this evening, with a prize going to the best team of master chefs.
During a visit to the Renaissance walled town of Lucca and the Palazzo Mansi National Museum. Take a guided walking tour of the town center with it's cobbled streets and cafe-lined piazza's, and enjoy a cafe-crawl brunch. A guide will then uncover to you the treasures of the lush gardens and grand arched ceilings of the Palazzo Pfanner.
Discover the medieval hidden treasure town of Bolgheri, and enjoy a scenic drive through the vineyards, passing by some of Tuscany's top wineries. You'll visit one of the celebrated wine cellars followed by lunch in a local restaurant in Castagneto Carducci based on traditional recipes.
This morning why not take the opportunity to visit Pistoia with an optional excursion? Alternatively, relax or explore Montecatini at your own pace. This afternoon enjoy a cooking class at your hotel focusing on the making of cakes and desserts.
