Leave bustling Toronto and travel along the shores of Lake Ontario to Niagara Falls. Sightseeing in Niagara Falls includes a sightseeing cruise past the world-famous falls. Later, visit picturesque Niagara-on-the-Lake, where there is time to browse the shops of Main Street. Return to Toronto and spend the evening exploring the city sights independently, including Harbor front, Ontario Place and Chinatown.
On this mornings sightseeing tour see Toronto City Hall, the downtown banking district, Roger's Center and the stunning CN Tower, more than a third of a mile high. This evening why not join the optional outing that combines dinner with the spectacular sight of Toronto's lights from the CN Tower? Afterwards, transfer to Union Station for a late-evening departure on the CANADIAN, VIA Rail's premier transcontinental train. Spend the next three days and nights on this classic trip across Canada's heartland. Accommodation is in first-class rail cars that are refurbished art-deco cars from the 1950's. Make sure to visit the observation dome for views of the Canadian countryside as you roll past Ontario's landscapes, or pass the time in one of the comfortable lounges. Enjoy an early breakfast as you continue on the 'Canadian' into the very heart of the Canadian Rockies. Arrive at the beautiful mountain resort of Jasper early in the afternoon. End the day with a short tour to experience its unspoiled beauty, with the rest of the evening free.
Begin the day with an optional excursion to Maligne Lake, and a narrated cruise. On the return journey, stop to view Maligne Canyon. With free time this evening you might take a hike and watch for elk.
Today, travel through Jasper National Park, stopping along the way at the Columbia Icefield for an exciting Ice Explorer ride on the 1200-feet thick Athabasca Glacier. Then continue down the Icefield Parkway to the lively mountain resort of Banff for two nights.
For a spectacular start to the day, why not take the optional helicopter ride high over the Canadian Rockies? In the afternoon join our optional excursion to Sulphur Mountain for a thrilling gondola ride, and a stop at sparkling Bow Falls. The evening is free.
Travel to Lake Louise, its azure blue waters mirroring the surrounding mountains and glaciers, before proceeding over Kicking Horse Pass on the Continental Divide. Travel through Yoho National Park, where Precambrian fossils were discovered, and Glacier National Park, where recreational mountain climbing was introduced to North America a century ago. Late this afternoon arrive at the cattle ranching centre of Kamloops.
Travel through British Columbia's Coast Mountain Range to its majestic Pacific coastline, the vegetation changes from desert landscape to lush alpine forests. Board the afternoon ferry for the spectacular crossing to Vancouver Island. Sightseeing in Victoria includes the Inner Harbour, Bastion Square, Thunderbird Park and world famous Butchart Gardens. This evening, consider a stroll along the lively Waterfront Promenade.
Be sure to discover some of the attractions this splendid city has to offer, including the Royal British Columbia Museum, afternoon tea at the Empress Hotel, a whale watching cruise on the Strait of Juan de Fuca and fine shopping along Government Street. This evening, why not join an optional excursion in Chinatown, complete with colourful lanterns and dinner at an authentic restaurant?
This morning, set sail across the Strait of Georgia and through the spectacular Gulf Islands, an archipelago known for its mild, almost Mediterranean climate. In Vancouver, city sightseeing includes Stanley Park, Gastown, Chinatown and many other famous landmarks. The remainder of the day is free to explore and experience British Columbia's premier shopping and entertainment location on Robson Street.

An afternoon arrival in Juneau, Alaska's capital. The city has a gold rush story to rival that of Klondike, and is only accessible by seaplane or boat. An optional wildlife cruise and salmon fishing will normally be available, and you'll also have the opportunity to take an optional excursion to Juneau's own glacier, Mendenhall. This impressive river of blue ice is about 1.5 miles wide and over 12 miles long!
Morning arrival in Skagway, Alaska's gateway to the Klondike Gold Rush in Canada's Yukon. Skagway was the turbulent staging point for prospectors and still has old-fashioned weathered boardwalks and old-time saloons. Optional sightseeing includes a ride in a vintage parlour car to see the White Pass and Yukon route. The rest of the day is yours to relax or explore some more, before setting sail again late this evening.
Cruise into spectacular Glacier Bay early this morning, where forests give way to a rugged landscape rising to rocky peaks. Sixteen huge mountains converge to create an awe-inspiring panoramic wonder, a dramatic scene of awesome glaciers and massive icebergs. Wildlife is abundant, and you may spot eagles, seals, mountain goats, moose and bears in their natural habitat.
A morning arrival in colourful Ketchikan, situated on Revillagigedo Island and known as the 'salmon capital of the world'. Here, a picturesque harbour shelters fishing boats and seaplanes. A wide choice of optional excursions will be available, including an outing to see Indian Heritage Villages and Totem Bight State Park.
Continue cruising south along British Columbia's spectacular coastline. Animal and marine life are abundant in this area and with a little luck you may spot a pod of mighty, yet graceful killer whales.
