Drive amongst the spectacular scenery of some of Switzerland's most famous cantons, stopping first at the old town of Appenzell with its quaint wooden houses and legendary 'Landsgemeindeplatz', a centuries-old meeting place. Next, head through the tiny principality of Liechtenstein to its ancient capital Vaduz, before travelling through the Rhine Valley and the impressive Julier Pass, an important transport route since Roman times. Stay two nights in the stylish Swiss ski resort of St Moritz, famous for its stunning mountain scenery and superb shopping.
Enjoy a whole day to explore this scenic Engadin valley resort. Renowned for its stunning forest, lake and mountain setting and an average of 322 days of sunshine per year, St. Moritz is comprised of two villages separated by a mile of lake shore - St. Moritz Dorf and St. Moritz Bad. Extending up the slope from the lake, terraced Dorf is a tapestry of grand hotels, upscale boutiques and traditional Engadin architecture, characterised by arched wooden doors, small deep-set windows and artistically etched facades. Neighbouring Bad is known for its ice rink, mineral and mud baths and energetic nightlife.
Today experience a memorable railway trip aboard the Bernina Express. Crossing the Alps to Tirano in Italy. This spectacular rail journey takes you to heights of more than 6,500 feet. In Tirano re-join your coach for a journey along the shores of the beautiful Lake Como, crossing the Swiss border to the lovely lakeside town of Lugano.
In the morning there's time to explore Lugano, described as having the 'gaiety and romance of Italy, encased in a Swiss precision watch', before heading into Italy and on to view the glorious, crystal-clear waters of Lake Maggiore, surrounded by towering mountains and lush countryside. Return to Switzerland via the scenic Simplon Pass, and then on to car-free Zermatt.
This morning, enjoy some free time to stroll through Zermatt, set at the foot of the mountains of all mountains - the Matterhorn. Maybe take a break to sample the local fare, lake raclette, fondue or hand-made chocolate, or shop for an authentic Swiss watch. Later, take the train back to Täsch, where you will re-join the coach to travel through the vineyards and apricot groves of the lower Rhône Valley to crescent-shaped Lake Geneva.
Spend the day at leisure relaxing at the hotel or taking a stroll through Lausanne. Alternatively join the optional excursion to charming cosmopolitan Geneva, with its cobblestoned old town and the "Palais des Nations", European Headquarters of the United Nations.
First stop is the famous cheese-making town of Gruyère and a visit to a local cheese factory. Then it's on to Switzerland's beautiful capital, Berne, standing on a rocky peninsula overlooking the Aare River and offering lots of opportunities for sightseeing and shopping. Continuing along the shores of Lake Thun, enjoy a stop in Interlaken, magnificently set in the backdrop of the Jungfrau Mountains at an altitude of 1,870 feet, before heading across the Brünig Pass to Lucerne for one night.
See the best of Lucerne, one of Switzerland's most charming medieval cities. Later, there is a chance to take an exciting excursion to Mount Stanserhorn or a boat cruise on the lake before leaving for Zurich in the late afternoon.

Could have had better weather but that cannot be helped. Tour guide Marco excellent, well organised, pleasant, very helpful. Great driver. Good hotels. Would have preferred to be closer to Lausanne city centre.
Good tour covered what we wanted, but Hotel in Lausanne too far from town and lake would pay more for better location or should be given option. Hotel in Zurich also in business area. Coach could drop people off near lake no town in Luzanne on way to Geneva and pick up on way back, should be given as an option. Should not just offer cheapest meals and should offer meat fish or vegetarian when dinner included. Very basic food.
Generally I did not feel this was value for money, most hotels are outside the city, up to 30 minutes by bus
A very varied tour with something for everyone - lakes, mountains, countryside, cities, towns and villages. Beautiful scenery, good excursions. Only criticism would be that a couple of the hotels were quite far from the centre of town, requiring a metro and/or bus ride in, which might not be suitable for everyone, especially making the journey in the evening in a strange town.
Very disappointed with Lugano stop. Very little time to see lake as hotel away from the lake and the following morning left no time to go and see. The hotel was substandard, dirty, appalling breakfast felt very second class to regular guests and would have been better to have stopped at lake Como. All other aspects were amazing.
