Continue the Rocky Mountaineer experience eastward to Shuswap Lake with it's many miles of shoreline. Follow the Kicking Horse River and pass over the Continental Divide into Banff National Park.
This morning, tour the highlights of Banff; Bow Falls, Tunnel Mountain and Surprise Corner. There is a choice of activities this afternoon between a nature walk with a picnic or lunch atop Sulphur Mountain.
En route to Lake Louise, a side trip showcases one of the crown jewels of the Rockies - Moraine Lake and the Valley of the Ten Peaks. Here 10 mountain peaks soar above 10,000 ft and surround the tranquil water of the lake. Later, arrive at enchanting Lake Louise. The rest of the is at leisure to explore the natural beauty and serenity of the area.
Today, travel on awe inspiring Icefields Parkway past towering peaks and immense hanging glaciers to Jasper National Park. Ride an exciting Ice Explorer on the 1,200 ft thick Athabasca Glacier and see thundering Athabasca Falls. Overnight in charming Jasper.
Leave Jasper and admire the scenery on the Yellowhead Highway along the Fraser and Thompson Rivers. This is the same rtoue followed by the early fur brigades of the Hudson's Bay Company as they paddled fully laden canoes to the Pacific Coast. Also pass Mount Robson, at 12,972 ft it is the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies.
This morning, travel past some of the most beautiful and rugged lakes and mountains in British Columbia. This afternoon, arrive in Whistler, one of the Canada's newest and most exciting mountain resorts, and host of the 2010 Winter Olympics.
This morning, enjoy a visit and private breakfast at the Squamish Lil'Wat Cultural Centre, dedicated to the history and culture of the First Nations peoples. Afterwards, board the BC Ferry to Victoria on a picturesque cruise to Vancouver Island. The charming, very British 'Garden City' of Victoria offers Parliament buildings, museums and they can be seen on a city highlights tour. The rest of the day is at leisure.
Today, choose your activity between a traditional afternoon tea and the grand Fairmont Empress hotel or for the more adventurous a whale watching excursion from Victoria's Inner Harbour. This afternoon, visit the world famous Butchart Gardens. The estate offers more than 700 varities of flowers on 55 acres and includes Italian, Japanese and English style gardens. Later the Tour Director hosts a farewell dinner in the original Butchart family residence.
This morning travel via BC Ferry through the Gulf Islands back to the British Columbia mainland and transfer to Vancouver Airport for your flight to the UK, or take an Alaskan Cruise.
