12th October 2017

The choice of places to visit were very good, high on everyone's list when visiting Italy. The tour guide was very knowledgeable about the regions and towns, cities etc. we visited, was very approachable, clean, presentable and had excellent English. The negatives are that we didn't have the time to enjoy lunches when out, which would be one of the joys of visiting Italy. The food at the tour hotels was very unsatisfactory, boring and bland. We also paid for three meals out two of which were awful but the meal at the winery was excellent. The visit to the Cinque Terrell was a total disaster and a waste of a day. We couldn't go by boat so spent three quarters of an hour waiting for the guide to purchase tickets, then travelled by train to two villages when one would have been enough. The train journey back was horrendous, the train was literally jam packed with tourists. I felt it was dangerous. On the whole it was a good week, we met some lovely people and would be happy to consider another tour.

3rd October 2017

The tour met expectations and the optional excursions enhanced the experience although we were not given any information about these until on the tour. The Cosmos customers had been supplied with a booklet detailing all aspects of the tour and the available optional excursions. The hotels were of a good standard but the food served was always luke warm or cold and the menu was far below the standard expected for such hotels. The standard and of the staff in the restaurants was also poor. The hotel in Sorrento was very good as was the hot food and the very friendly staff throughout although it was very disappointing that the roof terrace bar and seating area was closed at 6.00pm giving no chance of a relaxing time after dinner looking out over the town and Bay of Naples. The location of the three hotels in Rome meant that it was not possible to spend any free time in the centre. We considered that completion of the questionnaire before the end of the tour was wrong as we were unable to give a full answer to the questions. Archers should give the same consideration to their customers as the Cosmos group does.
